Reviews of Georgian House Hotel (Newhall House Apartments)
"A somewhat unusual experience would be an understatement. The only member of staff (apart from the helpful handyman) that I saw and spoke to was a concièrge/receptionist as I was leaving! The hotel had a car park but I remain uncertain as to whether or not I was charged to use it as I received no invoice/bill. The room was simply charged to my debit card when I phoned to book on the Monday before my Saturday night stay. When I arrived in the late afternoon I had the code to enter the main door. I ascended to my room on the top floor. The door was open and the key was on the table. The room was comfortable and had an en suite shower/basin/toilet. The double bed was two singles put together with a further single bed alongside. The tea making facilities were fine as was the television. On Sunday morning, my shower was curtailed by the fact the shower tray was about to fill and overflow after about three minutes (3 minutes). I think there was meant to be breakfast but I could not find any in the dining room around 9 a m. So I left to have breakfast elsewhere."
"Great for the location. The rooms are definitely nothing to write home about, and checkin is a bit disconcerting, unless you're prepared in advance, as there's no staff on site, so you need to receive the code to let yourself in."
"FILTHY DIRTY DUMP. WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER STAYED IN MY ENTIRE 70 YEARS ON THIS EARTH. The room I was assigned was a dark, damp, dingy basement room. The bathroom was moldy, the furniture and carpet were stained. There were broken broken window panes and a hole in the wall. There was no staff on the premises so there was no one to complain to. We arrived late in the afternoon so we had no choice but to stay there. Thankfully it was for only one night. The room was a non refundable booking through AGODA. When I immediately contacted AGODA and asked for a refund all I have ever received from them was the run around from their customer NO service department."
"Really lovely little hotel which was excellent value for money. There were some minor issues like one of our towels was dirty and there were only two sachets of coffee for three nights and two people. Rooms were otherwise very beautiful though and the staff were very lovely. It was also in a very convenience location on a very pretty street."
