"Do you not believe you should do something other than a parent's meeting regarding a student brandishing a weapon and threatening other children within your premises? It is very concerning that you care more about the length of girls' skirts than the safety of your students. Very appalling and incidents such as the afore mentioned should be brought to the local police's attention. Instead of sending surveys to your students as to why they feel unsafe, do something about the fact that they feel unsafe."

"As someone who has been to this school, I don’t recommend unless you are willing to dedicate your life to it, I wish you luck. The education is poorly: teachers take our learning away because they can't tell of people properly. Teachers are racist(they do nothing about this)and pick on certain people as if there aren’t other people messing around, school does not make me feel safe + if i protest about it then i would be called a miss behaved girl. There are rumours and gossip every single week and people have been hurt. Some people have not been taught how to behaviour, does a student causing a physical fight/hurting another student sound responsible to you? where is the slack and proper in that. The buildings are unhygienic: water leaks through classes when someone spills water ants are crawling in the huts and when it’s winter there is no heating. The rooms are stuffy when it’s hot, where is the air conditioning? plus the windows are either locked or don’t open any further. The school rules are out of order,: if a student can’t wear hoop earrings or multiple earrings then neither should teachers. This should apply the same for all and girls have no freedom to express themselves when there is a mufti day. Overall it’s the rules and the teachers fault for putting kids at a horrible state. Please fix this"

"I go to this school right now , I will probably get in trouble for writing a review however I am going to voice my views as personally I don’t feel they are addressed in school .I wouldn’t rate this school however I need to otherwise my voice wouldn’t be heard . I feel like many students have the mindset that they will fail , as we feel like there are more cover lessons than actual lessons . There is bare minimum effort from some of the teachers , and some teachers can’t control a class !! There is nothing to make the students happy or looking forward to school until the last 2 weeks of the academic year . There are loads of rules students have to follow which I don’t understand as many of us feel like our basic human rites have been taken away from us . We aren’t allowed to fill up our water bottles or go to the toilet during lessons , and if we have to , we have to get a behaviour point for basic rites . I don’t see how wearing more than one earring, or dying out hair different colours affects our learning in school . Teachers would rather spend 10 minutes of their lesson time correcting and shouting at teenagers rather than crack on with the lesson . Many of the students don’t understand why we have to wear our blazers around school , as we aren’t out of school or representing it . There are many issues that students feel they can’t address with members of the school as there is no trust there . Teachers expect us to give them respect when there’s no return ? That’s not okay ! I don’t think you should send your daughters here as the school makes people feel uncomfortable and horrible being themselves in their own skin . There is so much more myself and many others could write about the school , this is just some of the things . Yours sincerely Terri ."

"In my few years of attending Coloma, my experiences haven't been all too bad. Although the general community within the students of coloma is quite fantastic and mainly positive, I must say that many other pupils and I have encountered extremely unpleasant situations with staff where we have felt that certain people were perhaps treated differently due to an unfair reason that should not at all change the way that someone thinks about a person. Students and I are also concerned for the quality of the education that we will receive next year due to the amount of teachers that are leaving their jobs. Not only now, but even during lockdown the teachers were not performing efficiently with keeping our grades to a decent level. A point I would also like to raise is about how the school is left after all 6 periods. The classrooms and toilets are in a horrible state and aren't cleaned properly when and where necessary. If you are thinking about sending your daughter(s) here, please keep the negative reviews in mind. I hope that in the next years to come, Coloma will improve and bounce back to its high standards. "In response to Kay Kay - she is absolutely right. I went there in the 1990s and it was exactly like this back then. Sad to hear that nothing much has changed. The white, rich girls were always favoured over non-white, poor ones (such as myself.) The school was rife with elitist, arrogant teachers, many of which had no clue how to teach or connect with pupils. The pupils themselves were snooty to you if you were not rich. It damaged my confidence so much that I left there believing I was stupid. But I had the last laugh because I ended up getting a PhD a few years ago, in spite of them. Something I bet they never thought I could achieve."
