First Russian School

"Before having one mum recommend to me First Russian School, we did trial lessons at other schools, offering Russian language learning for children in central London. And I have found First Russian school to be most effective for these reasons: The genuine loving and caring attitude to each child is felt, something we have experienced with our kids attending local kindergarten in Moscow. Russian culture and soulfulness lies at the heart of this school for me. Teachers are extremely attentive and there is a good sense of balance for chosen curriculum of learning grammar, reading and writing, whilst keeping things fun and doing vast range of artistic activities. We love the creative element and the high level care & imagination, with which each lesson is programmed and planned ahead. The children love doing art and drawing classes, learning about different techniques, like watercolour drawing, making and inventing beautiful crafts & healthy savoury snacks or deserts, theatre plays and music making together, all whilst exploring and building new skills and vocabulary for their Russian cultural and language development. Lessons are tought by native speakers, which is important to me. And most importantly, kids always come back from the lessons smiling and happy. It is always reassuring, a joy and a pleasure, knowing they are so well looked after and to see their progress in Russian at the same time. The location before was off High St Ken, but the school recently moved close to Sloane Square, where the kids have secure playground to play in and enjoy during their break times. The four hours that the children are there also provides parents with more time to do what they need to, without rushing to pick up the kids. I’m delighted to recommend this particular Russian school for families based in central London."

The curriculum is balanced so she develops her knowledge through Russian lessons as well as does some other activities such as art, crafts, drama, playing outside in playground etc in way that helps my daughter keeps her energy level hight till the end of the school day.
