"A VERY BAD school. The teachers don't care about the students in any way, probably because most of them are English and students are from ethnic and religious minorities, most being from Arab extraction and Muslim backgrounds. I saw a teacher degrade one of the girls in the hallway while the students, (student) teachers and others were walking by. At least some of the teachers hate the school and complain constantly about the work conditions. The ICT department is a joke, with the teachers wanting to leave and not knowing how to teach their subject. One of them always used to complain about his students, other teachers (especially the head of department as he seemed to dislike him), not being able to teach his students, etc. He was always looking for work elsewhere as a teacher but never being successful; I wonder why. Another teacher was disliked by other teachers. I heard she once was talking bad about a female student teacher. Another senior teacher and older so she should know better, also spoke about another student teacher behind their back. Yes, there was a lot of back-biting among the teachers and most of them didn't seem professional at all. The teaching was very poor and the school didn't cater for the many students that needed a lot of attention for various reasons, such as (mostly lower) ability, language or emotional problems. The teachers didn't discipline the students and so the behaviour was terrible, with most of the girls being very immature. Please do not come to this school. Even though it has an undeserved reputation, it is in actuality an appalling school."
"I am an former student of this school & my grades were not so great. I have to say that this is one of the worst schools in Ealing & I didn't enjoy studying here. I've spent most of the time wanting to leave this school and it came to the point that in year 9 I was ready to leave (although I knew it was difficult moving so I decided to just stay for another 2 years). Most of the teachers cannot teach properly and the only time of the day that I've actually enjoyed was form time (this was when I actually got to see my progress). After year 11 I finally moved to an very good school where I got the education that I needed and there was massive improvements in my grades. I managed to get up from grade E to grade Cs or Bs in my retakes and it felt much better."
"It's cool you have fun times then you have boring well my teacher was nice and kind"
"The Ellen Wilkinson school is an average school , students do not get the best results. however most teachers are very encouraging and offer their best of help for all student.I currently attend this school and my grades have improved a lot since i started in this school in year 9.One of the best teachers is Ms.Douglas head of sociology as shes an amazing teacher, who works really hard and helps all students.Overall,i would recommend this school to anyone specially student who are new to the country as it really helps them catch up and get really good results."
"Having been a former student i can tell you that this school puts students down and never, ever encourages your children to do their best. My sister is current student and is being forced to do the lower exam papers even though she is top of her class (set). How can she achieve her full potential and go on to do want she wants to do when most places are asking for B grades and above and the school is never giving her a chance to even try the higher paper? The success of students gaining good grades is NOT down to the teachers at this school, it is down to the students who have the natural ability to achieve and do well. This school fails as a so-calledscience and maths specialist school. It is very far from being a good school for doing your sciences and mathematics. Having done my A levels here, many of my fellow classmates had to retake their exams up to 2 times to gain the grades needed for university. This school likes to manipulate is results by putting certain students down and falsely bring other students up despite their failure of exams the major exams. Not a school i would recommend, especially not for Sixth Form."
