Reviews of The Liquid Room
"Been here a few times to see lve music fantastic little place and if you get there early enough you can get a seat on the balcony best views of the stage great place"
"What an awful night we had 16 th Dec. abba tribute. Band were good venue was frozen the whole night couldn't take our coats off. Lady next to me had to leave she was so unwell with cold wasted an otherwise nice weekend in Edinburgh should get a refund and apology"
"Way too crowded - can’t move at all. Pretty sure they oversold tickets and then squished everyone in when they didn’t fit. Also, the music went out and didn’t come back on. Then the female bouncer was rude and sassy on the way out. Probably the worst club I’ve ever been to. Can’t believe I paid 11 pounds for that. Won’t be coming back - that’s for sure. Edit: The response from the owner is trying to gaslight me. I found it to be very uncomfortable and the busiest/squishiest club I’ve ever been in; but, was there Friday night, not Saturday night. Also, the music going out wasn’t mentioned in the response…"
"I really didn't want to leave this review, as I'd like to forget this whole experience as soon as possible, but it wouldn't be fair to other people considering clubbing here. On the night of the 28th of October. I have never had a bad experience with door staff in all my experience clubbing, so I still feel very confused by this one. A member of my group was unfairly treated at the door and, after asking the reason why they were not going to be allowed in, the man at the door blatantly lied to everyone (not sure he knew we were a group) and said he has a voice recorder. I asked him to show the recording, as I knew what was said, and he quickly called his colleague that then said they don't need to show it to us. So essentially we were being barred for no reason but a chip on their shoulders. The colleague then proceeded to say that if they don't like the look of us, they can bar us. I promptly informed her that that is discrimination and against the law, to which she agreed and asked me what I do for work, followed by telling me what her sector of work is and that makes it so that "[she has] all of the power and [we] have none". I was astounded by the inflated ego and immediately felt grateful for being barred because, if it's like that outside, I could only imagine what it's like inside; so we couldn't leave quicker after hearing what the door staff queen had to say. Also, from what I can see by other reviews (in addition to what the door staff told me), this type of behaviour is supported and encouraged by the venue, which is a massive red flag when you're expecting to be treated with respect and to feel safe after buying tickets with them. However, I really hope it was just a bad day for them, as such behaviour can break a number of laws, which is worthy of investigation (evident by the fact that when I mentioned citizens advice, they dialled it down several notches). The least they can do is offer a refund for our tickets. I also recommend training of door staff so they can at least drop the hostility and learn to be respectful to customers."
"Its a really great concert venue, good sound and a cozy tucked away place if you're seeing a smaller band! As a club venue however, it does lack the same charm. Every other place you go, someone is trying to sell you something and the music is alright if you're into 2010s stuff. Just not for me though."
