"As I had not been near a gym for years and I was 72 years old It was with some trepidation I signed up in October for twice weekly sessions with Calum Young. In the first few sessions Calum introduced a variety of exercises, assessed my fitness level and identified the weaknesses from old rugby injuries. Three months on I am in much better overall condition, have more energy and strength. Calum makes sure that the sessions are varied, that I make progress but don't cause any physical harm. The personalised nature of the programme, the well equipped private gym and the experience of Calum combine to make this a very valued training programme that I have already recommended to friends."
"Update - December 2022 I have been having personal training sessions with Daniel Hynd at Luke Bremner for nearly two years and it’s been great, so enjoyable and fun working with Dan. I wanted to get personal training to help improve my fitness and strength for running the Edinburgh Marathon in May this year, which I did and wouldn't have been able to have done this had I not had personal training with Dan. Thanks Dan! I have run 5k, 10k and half marathon races but this was my first marathon and having run it, got to the end, got the t-shirt, and didn’t hit the wall, that for some strange reason I wanted to run it again in 2023!! In part because I want to improve on my time. I continue to have personal training sessions with Dan to keep improving my fitness and strength for marathon number 2. Dan is always improving his knowledge, skills, education and qualifications in personal training and in other areas of fitness. Dan is studying for a qualification on breath work, which is underrated in training and is very much a featured topic talked about and in running/fitness magazines. It’s very interesting! Dan continues to give me nutritional information, which is so important in my training for the marathon. Dan will always take into consideration for my training sessions any injuries/niggles that I have picked up, which I really appreciate. I continue to manage one injury and Dan will always take the time to think what exercises I could do to help improve my injury. I have no hesitation in highly recommending Dan and Luke Bremner Fitness for anyone looking for professional and private one-to-one training in Edinburgh. December - 2021 In 2022 it will the third time lucky of starting a training programme to run the Edinburgh Marathon, a certain pandemic got in the way for the first two attempts! I decided that I wanted to get some personal training to help me with my strength and stamina when the time comes to start the marathon training programme. I contacted Luke Bremner Fitness and I was paired up with Daniel Hynd and when I met Dan he was excited to work with me as I had a specific sports goal that I was aiming for. It is great working with Dan, he makes the training sessions really enjoyable, he is so just so knowledgeable in so many ways, he is a sponge and soaks up information and is always improving himself in learning and getting qualifications in other areas of training and fitness. I have picked up a couple of injuries recently through my running and what I’ve really appreciated is that Dan has taken this into consideration in the training sessions and taken the time to think of exercises for me to do outside of the training sessions that will help with the injury. Dan also provides me with nutritional information, which he drip feeds to me as I Iike it this way, best way that I can take onboard such information. I’m not someone that can absorb lots of new information all at the same time. I have no hesitation in highly recommending Dan and Luke Bremner Fitness for anyone looking for professional and private one-to-one training in Edinburgh."
"Due to lockdown, I hadn't been to the gym for a while and wanted to get back into healthy habits. However, I was still concerned about busy/crowded places. Luke Bremner Fitness offers one-on-one training sessions with the whole gym space to yourself and your trainer, which was one of the main reasons I gave it a go. I did the 3 month programme, with 3 sessions per week, and Matt has been an absolutely brilliant trainer. Listened to all my concerns, helped me work out my goals, has kept the sessions interesting and challenging, and has helped me overcome a lot of the limits I used to have. Very happy with my progress in terms of strength and stamina: I haven't looked or felt this good for a very long time. The cost was perhaps high but I consider it excellent value for money, given the quality and amount of one-on-one training, and the private gym facilities. I ended up doing another two months after the initial three months, as it fitted in really well with my schedule (I prefer to exercise early in the morning) and it was going so well. I would not hesitate to recommend Luke Bremner Fitness to anyone looking to take the very best care of their health and fitness."
"The whole team at Luke Bremner Fitness was very helpful and responsive. Matt was our trainer and we would 100% recommend him to anyone looking to feel better and get fit. Matt listened to our needs and built a custom training plan that helped us achieve our fitness goals. We did the 2x weekly couples sessions and Matt found a way to work in exercises that would benefit us both. We saw results quickly and have continued to build strength and gain muscle. If we needed modifications due to previous injuries or tired muscles, Matt was quick with an alternative! We’re leaving the area or we’d be continuing on with our sessions. "I would strongly recommend using Luke Bremner Fitness if you're wanting to improve your health and lifestyle. I've been working with Graeme for almost 12 weeks now, and it has been really good. Having used trainers in a variety of gyms over the years, this is the first time that I have felt really listened to. Instead of being fitted into my trainer's perception of "a good training programme" without too much in depth conversation to check it's right for me, Graeme continues to check in with me each week, to see how I've been doing/how I'm feeling, what I want to achieve, and adapts our plan accordingly. And he explains very clearly to me why I'm doing certain exercises, or why he's asking me to plan my meals in a certain way, and how it all fits in with my goals and targets. This really helps me keep going. Not only has Graeme been really helpful, but I appreciate the way in which the Luke Bremner company keeps in touch - checking that I'm happy with my progress, that all is going well etc. It's been a really positive experience for me, and I look forward to continuing my sessions."
