"A very small museum/gallery that is specially dedicated to the history of childhoods. It is located at the Royal Mile. The entrance cost is free and you are free to donate to the museum to help with its maintenance cost. There is a souvenir shop located at the entrance. It contains several galleries displaying the children's toys and playthings across several decades. It is interesting to see the development of games across the decades. However the dolls are a bit scary and may not suitable for the younger audience"
"The museum has a great collection. The historical importance of toys are well-documented. I could revisit my childhood through the '80s toys. However, being an admirer of the work that the organisers have put in, I feel more work is needed in the way many toys are displayed. Kids growing up in the 21st century might be underwhelmed. At least, that's what I felt while I was passionately showing many of the toys from my childhood ( 1980s) to my 8 year old daughter."
"Anyone interested in going back over the years to see what children played with before technology took over . Free admission it is spread over 5 floors but there is a lift plenty of space for wheelchairs to get around on each level. So if interested it is wheelchair friendly. There is a gift shop as you enter the building . There are toilets but I didn't notice one for the disabled but I would think there would be one"
"This place is suitable for children as it shows toys from different eras. Not much to do for adults as the museum quite small. I also found a lots of spooky dolls (for me) as I am not keen on dolls and something like that. However this is one of the museum that children might enjoy as there are toys that can be play around."
"I hope you have a good time and if you like my reviews and photos, please click LIKE on my reviews!!! :) Enjoy What a wonderful place to visit, whilst visiting this beautiful city. This museum has a lot to offer, and it does not take long to view the exhibits. So this will not delay your visit to other points of interest in Edinburgh. This museum will bring your childhood memories to life. Enjoy"
