"Beautiful building, it is really worth a visit. There are still hippos roaming here today, they graze on the popcorn and sip from Bacardi breezer bottles. The seats are quite small so if a hippo tries to sit next to you - I would move, as it is now a hate crime to fat shame them."
"Wonderful cinema to visit with a string variety of films. The front of house staff are friendly and it's a lovely atmosphere for watching both classics and new films. I especially love the silent film festival."
"What a lovely original old cinema. It's so charming. It's great to see an old cinema still being used. If you've never been to the Hippodrome then you must make a point in going, you will not be disappointed."
"Gorgeous cinema and the jewel in the crown of Scotland's cinema heritage. An amazing wee survivor from the early days of cinema, lovingly restored and upgraded for the 21st century. An absolute pleasure to visit."
"A joy. Beautiful old cinema with welcoming friendly and knowledgeable staff. A real old fashioned cinema trip which catapulted back in time. I went to a morning special show coffee and a movie for under six quid. It just blows a trip to a multiplex out of the water. I will be back next Monday !!!"
