Reviews of Sandeman House
"I was very warmly welcomed by Joyce, who showed me to my room in her lovely home It was Beautifully decorated, very comfortable and extremely clean. My room consisted of a sink, TV, an armoire with lots of storage Joyce also has a tea tray set inside of it which consisted of a nice selection of tea, biscuits a teapot, some lovely tea cups and every evening when I came back to my room there was fresh cream waiting for me. I stayed in the double room which came with it's own bath which was wonderful, it consisted of a shower, tub, toilet, sink and a bidet. The morning's were my favorite when I came down for breakfast I was greeted by Joyce and her husband Neil they always greeted me with friendly works and smile. The first thing you notice is the Beautiful table which always had fresh flowers, cheeses, James, butter, nuts just a Beautiful assortment of yumminess. Then your attention turns to the coziness of the room I was there in January so there was a fire going in the fireplace and lying in front of the fire resting his bones was Joyce and Neil's dog Macintosh. After settling in at the table They would ask if I wanted, eggs, toast, bacon, ham and of course haggis or porridge. I always chose the porridge it was the best I'd ever had. The other house guests would come in and were greeted the same. I can't recommend this home enough. Thank you Joyce & Neil"
"We were visiting a relative who lives near Sandeman House and they suggested we stay here. What a great call! We stayed for four nights in a spotless and super comfortable room, looked after by the wonderful Joyce and Neil. We felt thoroughly at home. They cooked us delicious food every morning and we really enjoyed chatting with them about both the city and life in general. We will most certainly be back."
"Joyce and Neil are delightful hosts and the house is fantastic. The breakfast was out of this world and there is a glorious calm that pervades the house. Wonderful stay and will definitely return."
"As the British and Scottish would say, this is a lovely place. Neil and Joyce are gracious hosts. The room was very clean with all necessary amenities. Bathroom was spotless and roomy. Breakfast made to order every day with fresh fruit, eggs, breakfast meats and Scottish treats. Price reasonable, especially for festival time in Edinburgh. A wonderful place in a great city and country."
"I was stranded in town, needing accommodation and I was referred to that place. Neil and Joyce, the hosts, went above and beyond the call of duty in order to help me. They have a charming house. Their rooms are beautifully and richly decorated and the whole place has a warm feeling. And, on top of this, they will cook you a fantastic, made to order, breakfast ! Highly recommended."
