"Iv lived in gorebridge for roughly 4/5 years but have been at pathhead medical for about 12 years, I walked down to the surgery and explained my situation to them that I needed to change my doctors as pathhead is too far away and I don’t drive, I’m a single mum of 2 my daughters grandfather used to take me whenever I had to go but has sadly passed away a year ago, I told the receptionist lady this and she turned around and told me that “That the surgery does not accept Pathhead medical patients because it’s local” what the heck does that even mean? (If anyone knows please let me know) the Receptionist made me feel kind of stupid and embarrassed just by the way she was looking at me and speaking to me I already suffer with anxiety and she made me feel x10 worse I’ll maybe try calling and explain to someone else."
"Never had any issue with docs or front end staff.Always able to see doc or get meds on my own terms.very helpful lot, doing a lot with not a lot."
"I've never had any issues with getting an appointment. Yesterday I phoned at 8:30, had an appointment booked by 8:35 and got a phone call back from the doctor at 8:45. I used to get a bit nervous phoning up as the receptionist could be a bit snippy but I think there is new staff there, doing a fabby job and are always kind and helpful on the phone. Dr Archibald, who I was booked with, was very kind and reassuring and took her time with me. GP surgeries tend to get a lot of bad reviews but I can honestly say that I've never had any issues with the practice and really glad I moved to the surgery."
"I realise that GPs and medical practices are receiving negative reviews but I recently saw the nurse for bloods. I raised a few issues and the GP phoned me within an hour. Within one week i had letters from RIE offering me a appointment in February. I really appreciated the quick response and advice and the rapid turn around. Thank you."
"No complaints about the level of medical care - doctors have been excellent, kind, and thorough, as far as my own untrained eye can judge - but the practice is clearly in desperate need of more resources and support. Unfortunately it's a full-time job just trying to contact a doctor - it can take hours to get a call through, and most likely you'll be told to call back the next day. Members of my family have experienced being stuck in a loop of "please-call-back"s for days or even weeks, even with serious health issues. Furthermore while almost all of the front-desk staff are completely professional and friendly despite this difficult situation, at least one seems to see it as their job to try and "fix" it by denying as much patient care as possible -- asking medical questions they clearly aren't qualified to ask, and belittling patients until they simply give up. I know that most staff at the practice are trying their absolute best in a difficult situation, so I'm writing this in the hope that they can get the increase in resources that they clearly need to support the growing local community."
