Reviews of East Lothian Community Hospital
"I had endoscopy appointment was met with friendly caring staff so efficient made my visit so comfortable staff seem so friendly and great vibe made you feel at ease compliments to the nhs workets"
"Was recently sent here from the Edinburgh area to have a procedure. This is an exceptionally good place to come and a great example of what the NHS could be. It is spotlessly clean, has a great team of caring kindly staff who put me at ease. The consultant fully explained my procedure and talked me through it, so everything made sense. Well done all!"
"my 91yr old dad arrived on 23\8\22, from the royal to recover after a broken hip. i left that evening in absolute awe of ward 4. the questions asked were not just medical but they really wanted to get to know my dad as a person, i felt on cloud nine when i left knowing what amazing hands my dad is in at the moment. to all on ward 4 i thank you!"
"Obtuse & rude difficult women administering jabs with poor attitude and treatment of patients. Treated without any dignity or respect. Just on a power trip mindset of I’m right, your wrong, why r you here kind of attitude? Definitely will never go back. It’s a shame as it’s a really nice new building and quiet setting, just plain awful staff. Treated very nicely however by two front of house reception staff (both men), very pleasant and helpful towards me. Thank you for your kindness guys!"
"The new 'East Lothian Community Hospital' is a much better facility than before (though the original 1930s buildings were nice). The new hospital is huge, and there is a fair bit of walking to the wards/rooms etc. The open nature of the reception area and cafeteria can seem a bit impersonal. The staff and nurses are doing a great job ensuring care is delivered. The main negative issues are in the parking spaces provided, it is understandable that public transport is to be pushed, and restricting parking may encourage public transport but for those who are ill/disabled or have poor mobility the 5 disabled spaces are no where near enough. The walk from the car park to the entrance can be strenuous and uncomfortable to those with mobility difficulties. Yes there is a drop off point, but it takes time to unload wheelchair or elderly/infirm people and escort them to a waiting area. This causes the drop off area to become very busy, add in Ambulances and patient transport and it becomes silly. Overall its a positive experience, though be prepared for no parking spaces and quite a lot of walking. 4/5"
