Reviews
"Great place to go and explore, particularly if you have children or dogs. Lots of different paths running through the woods which lead you to the sand dunes and the beach. Can be quite muddy even after a couple of days of sun. Very easy to get to from Freshfield train station, although take care if you do bring kids or dogs as you will have to cross the train tracks at a foot crossing, and an active golf course."
"(My), Words could not, even can not describe the beauty of this place. From a maritime pine forest to the sand dunes, onto the foreshore the whole experience encapsulated everything that might be necessary for a mindfulness exercise. If you have not been here and seen and experienced this extraordinary place your life is not as full as it might be. quite incredible...."
"Lovely walk through the woods down to the sand dunes and beach. You can see the Blackpool Tower and The Big One rollercoaster on a clear day! I'd say it takes about an hour to walk there and back. Take care of some branches sticking out from the large trees that have fallen over the path during the storms."
"The fisherman’s path connects Formby golf course with Formby beach. Forming the connecting leg of the Ainsdale pinewoods circular walk (around 6.3miles) can be very muddy so substantial walking boots are advised."
