Reviews of Birkenhead Park Visitor Centre
"A welcoming accessible visitor centre with friendly, helpful staff, information desk, display area, cafe and toilets with baby change . A great place to meet with friends and family or just call in for a convenience break when visiting the park. Birkenhead Park was the world’s first publicly funded park. It was opened in 1847 by Joseph Paxton with the aim of creating a ‘park for the people.’ Birkenhead was a major influence on Frederick Law Olmsted's design of Central Park, New York. Facilities and things to do: - visitor centre with café - children’s playground and play boulder - two lakes available for angling (permit applies) - Grade 1 historic landscape - Swiss bridge, Roman boathouse and grand entrance - football pitches and bowling greens - fitness trail - public toilets and baby changing in visitor centre - beautiful woodland walks"
"Good cafe with outside seating. Staff in visitors centre very friendly and helpful"
"Large visitor centre located within the park grounds. There's an information section showing history and pictures about the park, as well as an information booth with staff available to answer questions. In the same building, there is a large café with both indoor and outdoor seating."
"Nice big park and visitors centre has good selection of food, drinks and ice cream"
