"The woodland park and Ewloe Castle make a brilliant free day out in the country, with the added bonus of some Welsh history. We went on a soggy day when proper walking boots should have been worn.... the mud was slippy, deep and squelchy. Includes a children's playground, picnic area, cafe and toilet facilities. For free, well worth 5 stars!"
"Stunning and beautiful place. Plenty of parking and facilities such as visitor centre, cafe and toilets. And plenty of footpaths to walk on leading you to fabulous scenery such as a Brook walk, Gardens, pond, woodlands and castle"
"Brilliant place for kids, my grandsons (6&12) love splashing about in the water whatever time of year, lovely walk to the castle ruins with rocks to climb enbroute. They like the play area and cafe too. Great for walking dogs too."
"Amazing place with so many little paths. There is a stream with plenty of dipping points for dogs and kids and a waterfalls. There is a big waterfall too. The castle and history that’s associated with the castle is fascinating. The trees in autumnal just breathtaking, with a million photo opportunities along the way. You really can spend the whole day here walking, biking, letting the kids blow off steam, wide open spaces for picnics or sunbathing. No to mention the skate park and playground too. Really did enjoy this place. Does however need all the litter picking up, did slightly spoil the beautiful place."
