Reviews of Wigg Island
"Good walk for dogs and a descent view of fiddler's ferry power station and Runcorn bridges. No restroom."
"I still think Wigg island is a fantastic location to take the dogs for a walk. There are many different paths to choose from that all loop around pack to the car park in the end. There is a car park available at the beginning of the trail free of charge and there are plenty of sports available. There is a sign available that show all the times the car park closes. Along the trail is filled with trees, bushes, flowers and even a lake that you are able to explore. You might even find some hidden sculptures along the way. There are also some wildlife such as birds, rabbits and ducks along the way depending on the time of year. There are multiple large fields for dogs and children to play and it could be a great location for a picnic in the summer. My dogs absolutely love there time at Wigg island. It's a very relaxed walk and you are able to go at your own pace. There are also some fantastic photography locations along the way. I would really recommend a visit on a lovely summer's day."
"Such a beautiful walk with lovely scenery too, especially seeing the Runcorn Bridges. If you haven’t been here before then you need to come and visit. Lots of friendly people and dogs too!"
"Wigg Island has ample car parking but the approach road from the swing bridge has major potholes. Over the years the Island has been allowed to return to nature, the paths are clear and buggy friendly. 75% of the seating has been removed, there are no toilets or Cafe. In my view the Island is an opportunity lost."
