Reviews of The Kensington Arms
"Aaaaamazing Sunday Roast, it is not a cheap option but it is totally worth it! I went with my family and everyone said how good everything was. For the SR, It is a bit different, they had a menu: 2 courses £25 or 3 courses £31. The pork belly was insane!!! Very very good!! Crispy and juicy! The veggies were delicious. My parents ordered fish and they weren't less happy, they loved it too. We also ordered a bottle of white wine (this was nothing especial, I must say) Desserts were also delicious. Our main waiter (an English lad who spoke very good Spanish ;) couldn't be more efficient and nicer! I'd highly recommend this place! I thought I am going to start posting a photo of the toilet (a friend of mine used to say...how you see the restaurant's toilet is how you can expect the kitchen to be!! in this case? Very clean!)"
"Had a reasonable expectation before visiting the Kenny's reputation for a premium Sunday Roast and returned disappointed. The gravy was watery and lacked depth. The meat cookery on the duck was over. The plate lacked seasoning, the sides were better. Hopefully the chef team has stronger days."
"Enjoyed a great lunch here. Food was excellent, everyone at our table of 4 enjoyed both courses. The mackerel main was Scotts / Rick Stein quality in terms of preparation and presentation. Staff were attentive and friendly. Expensive for a suburban pub but absolutely worth it and ultimately good value."
"Sunday Roast done exquisitely. Simply the best Sunday roast I've had for a long time. The Sirloin was served pink (as it should be), the pork belly was tender on the inside and crispy skin. Good sized portions, lots of vegetables and roasted potatoes. Not your least expensive, but worth every penny."
"Wow Wow Wow. This is an amazing place to go. This pub is tucked away in a corner of Bristol, in a nice neighborhood. The head chef of the restaurant owns a michelin star restaurant, and is an amazing chef. We got to have the privilege of sitting right next to the kitchen to see all of the action, it was very good to watch. I had the battered fish, with triple cooked chips, the fish was beautiful and we'll battered and the chips were probably the best I've ever eaten. For starter I had the the fishcake, which was very crispy and paired well with the homemade pesto underneath, this dish was served and garnished beautifully. For the other starters we had the chalk stream trout tartare and the saffron aranchini, both of which looked lovely. For the other mains we had the pan roasted sea bass, which looked and smelled fresh, you could tell especially with this restaurant that all of their meals were fresh/homemade, the dry aged ribeye, cooked medium rare, this did come out a bit more rare than liked, but with a busy night and with seconds of time to make it cooked well, is completely understandable. To finish of the mains, we had the black treacle and mustard glazed gammon, with eggs, which was again cooked perfectly. For 'afters' we had the sticky toffee pudding, which was rich and the sauce for it was perfectly sweet; the strawberry cheesecake which was presented really well, and tasted lovely, and finally the brownie which had nothing to fault. The atmosphere was lovely, the location the same, and also the decor, and feel to this gastro pub. A must go place for sure! Pictures down below :)"
