Reviews of The Penthouse London
"This is a another Leicester Square money pit, three floors of varied average DJs will be combined with exceptionally un interactive and rude staff. To its credit you will find people in there and a good 'mix' if not to date purely to watch as entertainment. Your money and time is best spent elsewhere, but it's worth a visit for the view and one beer"
"This is somewhere I would never visit on a regular night out, but found myself there for a private event. The selling point is the wrap around balcony that offers views south over Leicester Square, and the glass lift on the side of the building that whisks you to the top floor is fun. The house wine was good and the buffet food was delicious (although I'm not sure it they serve this normally). Top tip: dress light, this place gets hot!"
"Nicely done night club. Few dance floors with different styles of music. Seven flights of stairs to conquer if you want to get there though. Smokers and fresh air searchers beware - prepare for a mission to get to the outside."
"**Having read the other reviews on here, it seems like this bar treats its guest either good or bad depending on what RACE they belong too!** Me and two of my friends were on a day-trip to London after their honeymoon, this was my treat to them. We were first enticed and greeted (surely friendly) by the door staff who did a good job of promoting the Happy Hour - 2 for 1 cocktails. When we got to the bar in the lift (7th floor) had a nice feel and great views But we placed our order of cocktails and were forgotten. When I enquired at the bar, our drinks were made in haste. When we got our drinks (even though we asked for it at the Terrace we got them on the sitting area) they tasted rank! water-downed and tasted more like flavoured and colored water. When I complained about the quality, I was spoken down to and made to feel like I am some high school fool (this was by a hostess who should have been better fitted on a catwalk with her mouth shut rather than customer service). I know my cocktails and that wasnt what we were served. Another couple got Cosmopolitans that looked like Cosmo and had the sugar lining on the glass. I was so disgusted not with the lateness of our order but by the wrong type of drink been serverd and the attitude of the hostess I complained to, that I turned all our drinks upside down so that the staff have more clean-up to do. Not even a apology or a complementry voucher we got, Note to the bar - if you hire people on the basis of their looks make sure they have the people skills to match!"
"To start with the positive; it has a nice view. That is, if you are looking out of the club which admittedly with the overcapacity tendency you might not even catch a glimpse as you attempt to battle your way through, passing in between the finest spray-tanned specimens and sweaty sleazy locals. At least you could buy a drink right? Well if you would like to spend half an hour getting pushed and shoved in constant fear of a fight breaking out to then purchase a £5 diluted shot, by all means, go ahead!"
