Reviews of Deacon Brodie's Tavern
"Would recommend this for a pit stop on any Edinburgh tour, downstairs is a small bar area serving your usual brews plus local ones too. Upstairs is the dining area, had to wait a little bit but they give you the option to wait upstairs or give you a buzzer to signal when you can go. Food was amazing and had really good portions, all in all a nice quaint place to eat and drink."
"Food was amazing! Staff super friendly, we were told a 40 min wait for restaurant upstairs but so worth it. Patrons down in the Pub all enjoying the time there. If you don't know what type of beer or whiskey you want, let their knowledgeable staff guide you to a perfect selection. A most go when in Edinburgh"
"First time I visited Edinburgh I had a meal here, 2 weeks ago, I was there again in my second visit to the city so good they are. I love all the food in this place. I will recommend the haggis, fish and ships and the lovely steak pie! Great place for food or for drinks! (Be aware of the time the kitchen closes!)"
"DON’T COME TO THIS PLACE!!! The servers were extremely slow. We waited an hour and half for our dishes. We tried asking for tap water multiple times, but the servers kept ignoring us. Food was bad. The veggies were nowhere near fresh. The pie and meat didn’t have any taste. There was not anything good other than the gravy on the mashed potato. The best thing about this place is that it looks pretty nice. PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!!!"
"Great service and location. Our food was good but not great. Had better haggis at Makar Mashed Gourmet. Better place to go for a pint."
