Reviews of Caffè Nero
"My new favourite spot to go and grab a cup of coffee. I love the caffe mocha, not too sweet but it is a perfect combination of coffee, milk and chocolate. I also had tuna red pepper & spinach, it is a little bit more expensive than usual tuna sandwich, but i can tell they use fresh vegetables and generous amount of tuna. Use nero application, u'll find many great promotion deals"
"The woman who is wearing glasses was so rude and weird the way she asking me to order something if I want to stay. I thought she was good as usual but unfortunately people don't change they reveal who they really are."
"One of the baristas (a girl with pink hair) was very condensing to my partner when she asked for some milk to add to her coffee that was too hot. She was quite pushy for us to get a cake/pastry even though we said no several times."
"They have great coffee and cakes. My mom and I went twice because we enjoyed it so much. They have a good place to eat-in and the staff are very welcoming."
"TL;DR Really bad experience with a bar tender today. I was ordering a large mocha and she told me that we could not sit in if my friend did not order anything. The cafe was empty and she was very arrogant. Recommend other cafes very close: people in brew lab, Kilimanjaro and sodeberg are usually very nice Long version: Very sad to post this review because this cafe Nero has been one of my favourite spots in Edinburgh. I used to go three times per week (minimum) and even the bar tenders knew that I got a large mocha with coconut milk. Nevertheless, today there was a bar tender that has not been here for the last year (she was in this place 2 years ago and was very arrogant with customers, but for some reason I stopped seeing her). Namely, she is the corpulent bar tender with black hair and pink highlights (I attached a picture to show who she is so that others complain if she is rude with them as well). Anyways, I went this morning to get a coffee and told my friend to sit with me for 15 min to talk before going to the library. We left our bags and suddenly the girl came after us to tell us that we must order something (which I was going to, she did not even give me time to leave my jacket in the chair lol). Then, when I go and order my usual (again, large mocha with coconut milk, but this time I wanted to try the Peru origin beans), she arrogantly said that what was my friend going to order. She told me that we CANNOT sit there unless we both order, which has not happened to me before. Worst still, she said is as if she was looking down on me. I would understand her saying so if the cafe was full and there were people trying to find a seat. Again, there was nobody in the queue and there were many tables empty. The woman said her name is Katie. I am not going to go there any more if she is going to be serving coffees. I feel a bit sad because I know some of the other bar tenders who are very nice with me. Specially a the girl from Poland who is there most of the times I go there. What´s more, I have seen this girl being this rude with other customers. I remember last year she told two students the same thing, that both of them had to order because they are paying 4K or sth like that per month for rent. One of the guys went to order a cookie and the woman told him that he had to order something more expensive. Where would you find someone telling you what you have to order? It’s insane that the barista has to tell you what you have to order. Who does she think she is to tell customers this? I do not know how people like her manage to work with customers face to face."
