Reviews of Browns
"Have been coming here for 15 years and the staff have always been very helpful, friendly and welcoming, whether in person or over the phone. Highly recommend."
"Was referred to by the NHS as my mum was suffering from knee pain, and the NHS had said they have qualified medical professionals to examine and advise. Walked in and all i was asked was, what's wrong with her knee, and said that she can look it at the knee but will only prescribe pain killers. Lazy and unfriendly, felt like they did not want to serve us"
"Sorry to say I have had awful experiences in this pharmacy each time I've had to pick up a prescription. The staff, no matter which I've dealt with, have a very rigid and suspicious nature with me and I believe it's because of my skin colour! I have watched numerous times as they politely deal with other non-black customers, smiling and being polite - and then when it comes to me there is this cold tone and body language, followed by a million questions (name/address/DOB/Do you pay for prescriptions etc!?? ), completely over-scrupulous and unnecessarily suspicious every time I've had to pick up a prescription. Just ask EVERYONE for ID, and then let them fill out the form discreetly without loudly asking whether they need to pay or not! It's bloody rude! I've been meaning to leave a review like this for ages, but waited until I recently had to collect another prescription - just to double check I wasn't imagining things! You must change this attitude and treat everyone equally, because it is obvious your staff are apparently very weary about SOME customers based on nothing other r than race, I'm convinced! We are humans too, and need to pick up our prescriptions just like everyone else! Cut it out! Be friendly and polite to EVERYONE!"
"I have had several unpleasant experiences with Brown’s Chemist. At least twice, I have been forced to wait around 10 minutes for them to sort out my medication. It clearly shows that they are disorganised because once a prescription has been sent to the chemist a few days back, I don’t expect to wait again in the pharmacy for them to sort out the medicines. However, the main reason I am unhappy with their services is that they are not helpful at all and do not care about their customers. Recently I had a case where my surgery had not received my order request for three of my repeated medications and Browns Chemist refused to lend me the medicines which I have been repeatedly ordering through them for at least a year. The staff members are generally not helpful at all and they never provide any advice on how to solve an issue and never help out with providing the options/alternatives that are available. In my recent case, the employee at the chemist was not helpful at all and after refusing to lend me my medicine for 1-2 days, she suggested that from now on I should ask my GP to send me my medicine for two months! That was her solution which show the chemist lack of responsibility and care towards customers. Furthermore, Browns Chemist working hours is until 5:30pm whereas other chemists in the area, including my new chemist, work till 6:30."
