Reviews of Caper and Cure
"We went here as a group of 7 for a birthday lunch and our meal was absolutely exceptional. Star of the show was the warm crab butter with sourdough bread - but honestly everything was so good. The staff were warm and attentive, and went out of their way to make us comfortable, including offering amendments to dishes for a vegan member of our group. Love love loved it here and will definitely be back."
"Sunday roast today at one of Bristols most talked about location for Sunday lunch. This is the best roast I’ve had in the city so far! For starters I chose the Steak Tartar which was incredible! The potato was super crispy and I loved how the mushrooms added a hint of acidity - I think they had been soaked in some sort of vinegar. I did feel like the fried potato took over the taste of the tartar so potentially would’ve added more steak to offset that but still 10/10. My friend chose the Ham Hock Terrine which was also stunning, would 100% order that next time! I went for the Pork Shoulder which came with crispy crackling, buttered veg, Yorkshire pudding and roast potato’s. My friend chose the beef. All in all, this was one of my favourite roasts of all time (with the exception of my nan’s which sadly cannot be beaten). We would have liked more gravy and smaller potato’s (because who doesn’t like that extra crisp?!). The meat was cooked perfectly, portion size spot on, one of the best Yorkshire’s I’ve had and I’ve never enjoyed veg on a roast as much as I did here. Sadly we didn’t have room for dessert but the treacle tart on the specials board sounded insane. Would love to visit again and try their main menu too!"
"Perfect Sunday roast! Thank you C&C for accommodating my family and I, on my birthday, super last minute. At first I was disappointed there was no a la carte on Sundays, but I soon got over it and was totally blown away by one of the best roasts I’ve ever had. We loved our starters (mopping up the mussel’s sriracha sauce with crusty bread was a joy) and everyone was super impressed. Service was top notch. Thanks again."
"Maybe the best roast I've ever had, chose the pork which was absolutely fantastic you could really tell the quality of the meat. The trimmings were all absolutely faultless and all with astonishingly good value at £14. What a bargain, I'd happily £20 for that. Can't wait to visit again to check out the regular menu."
"Really great place well worth trying out. It has plenty of competition nearby whether for weekend brunch or evening meals but they have put the accent of quality ingredients and some good cooking. We only stopped by for brunch on a Sunday and that was pretty popular so I imagine a booking for the evenings would be essential. I had homemade crab cakes which had a hint of shell! and I would have preferred a more tangy sauce rather than hollandaise. My friends had egg dishes and bacon sandwiches all of we were very well presented and very tasty. Coffee was very smooth too. Decor and style of the place is the industrial /shabby chic that seems ubiquitous these days but Bristol does it better than most!"
