"Terrible customer service, would not recommend. Used an independent travel agent to book myself & my mum to visit Wimbledon 2022 in conjunction with Newmarket. Arrived at the hotel the night before to no representative & just a letter to say meet to catch the bus in the morning. The coaches didn't turn up as was expected, leaving us & a number of other guests to decide to use public transport to get to the venue & not miss anymore of our day. The contact at the hotel was a contractor so wasn't particularly informed & wasn't sure when a coach would arrive. When we got to Wimbledon I went to the coach drop off point & spoke with representatives who confirmed there were issues, but took my telephone number to message me during the day to confirm if the coach return would still be happening. I didn't receive a text. I then received the call at 8.30PM when on the motorway having already made my way home after play had finished some 2hrs before. The team said we would be compensated but £5.20 to cover my tube ticket just doesn't cut it... The type of customers using their services want a stress free trip that does as it says & you get what you pay for & they just didn't deliver. Truly disappoint. Wimbledon did absolutely deliver & so will definitely be returning but not with Newmarket."
"Very brief story of what happened. We booked a 3 nights holiday in Krakow with Hayes Travel for the end of Nov flying from Bristol, Newmarket emailed me to change flights to Gatwick, and before letting us decide on whether to accept or not, they cancelled it without telling me (Hayes told me, and Hayes also said that Newmarket shouldn’t have contacted me) Still waiting for a refund, which is due last week but I am so disappointed with how Newmarket have left it with me, I don’t feel like a valued customer. Their customer service isn’t great. I don’t leave bad reviews, I understand cancellations happen and nothing can be helped but I think it’s the way it’s dealt with that counts. Not doubting other people have good experiences with them, but not for us, so won’t be recommending to family and friends."
"Just got back from a week in Lake Garda at the Savoy Palace Hotel. Newmarkets four organised coach trips were first rate with perfect punctuality, excellent guides and super coaches and drivers. Venice was the highlight! Their end of the holiday we couldn’t criticise. The hotel was of an excellent standard with a good breakfast but the evening half board meals were tiny portions and disappointing. Staff were nice but this hotel caters very much to a German market and we definitely felt like second class guests. Easy jet however were an absolute disgrace with a 2 and a half hour delay out of Gatwick and 1 hour forty five minute delay on the return! This carrier are a bunch of incompetent amateurs. NEVER again with a budget carrier and Newmarket need to drop them pronto! The flight is only 1 hour and 40 mins as it’s only 650 miles to Verona yet we left home at 2pm for a 6pm flight and didn’t arrive at our hotel until 01.30am which is frankly ridiculous! Catching any plane should be like catching a bus! Airline travel has gone seriously backwards in the last 30 years! Next year we will cruise from Southampton or holiday in the UK as we have no patience left for airlines. This was not Newmarkets fault however and we would definitely recommend them as a holiday company. Lake Garda and all of Northern Italy is simply stunning and highly recommended as an adult holiday. Holiday would have been 10/10 if it were not for sleezy Jet!"
"We have just returned from the incredible India tour, we had an amazing trip and the tour guide and accommodation was excellent. The only aspect which affected the holiday was the visa's, it was both very expensive and complicated. When we booked the holiday in April 2022 we were informed e-visa's were available at the cost of £19.99. we had notification in July these were no longer available and had to apply for a full visa. With the additional cost of £143 per person and travel costs I would estimate we have paid out an additional £400 for the 2 of us, it meant we were unable to afford all the optional excursions we had planned. It also appears to be a lottery how long the visa is issued for, my visa was to last 2 months, my husband's visa was for 6 months, on our trip others had 12 months visa's and yet we all paid the same fee! I feel Newmarket had a responsibility to assist more and make a token gesture of helping towards the cost. I would advise anyone who is considering a holiday to India to wait until the e- visa is brought back otherwise it becomes a very expensive holiday!"
