"2 days before the tour I received a text msg asking me to pay for the entry tickets to Hampton Court and Kensington Palace. I was then sent a link to vipondontours to pay a fee of 170 gbp. The websites for both places show the tickets are 20 gbp and 26.5 gbp. For two people that’s 46.50 gbp each or 93 gbp total. When I questioned the amount of the invoice I was advised we also needed to pay tickets for the guide. This is the only time we were told to pay anything for the guide out of 5 tours we booked during our stay. Each time I pushed back on that price, I was given a new story or advised that the guide would pay their own tickets after all and I would only need to pay 130 gbp, still much more than the ticket prices. When we said we are cancelling we began to get texts saying it would cost them money to cancel and they would not accept our cancellation. We finally had to block the number to stop the angry messages. It feels like we were scammed."
