Reviews of Prezzo Italian Restaurant Bath
"Used to go to Prezzo a few times a year for dinner before the pandemic. Not so for a while because their menu was getting rather repetitive. So had been trying other non-chain restaurants when we went out for Italian. Got a general email from Prezzo on 29 Nov promoting their Christmas festive set menu of 2 courses for £22 or 3 courses for £25.50 from Monday to Thursday. However, another email came a day later (30 Nov) saying that there was a mistake and that the offer is in fact valid for 7 days a week. This amendment looked interesting and so we booked a table for two to dine at their Bath restaurant on Sunday 4 Dec at 6pm. On filling the booking form online, the system did not ask us to specify the type of meal required. A confirmation email for our table booking came the day before. Turned up at the restaurant at 5.55pm and greeted at the front door by a sign saying that they would only serve customers with table bookings that night. A little while after entering the restaurant we were greeted by we think the manager. He said the restaurant was very full. We responded by giving him the details of our table booking. The manager went away and returned a little while saying that they had the last table for us. Because of the way he said it, the manager gave us the impression that we were indeed lucky to have a table despite the fact that we had a booking made in advance. The restaurant was indeed very full although customers of a few tables had just finished their meals and were leaving the restaurants not long after we were seated down. On the table there were two copies of menu. When one of the waitresses finally approached us some 5 minutes later, we told her that we would like to see their festive menu and showed her the Prezzo email. The waitress then said she needed to consult her manager. She returned after a minute or two with the festive menu. After another 5 minutes or so, the same waitress returned to take our order, We wanted to have the prawn as the starter and the sea bass on roasted vegetables as the main mainly because they were the most inviting dishes on the menu and of their low calories. To our surprised, the waitress replied by saying that the sea bass dish is no longer available on the night. Is it not a standard practice for the diners to be told upfront what is not available on the menu when it is first presented to the diners? We could not help thinking that the sea bass dish was indeed available if we had not asked for the festive menu. Given that the dish that we were invited to try on the Prezzo email was unavailable and that the overall reception by the restaurant was disappointing, we left the restaurant and went somewhere else. We have not dined at Prezzo for a long while and so we thought we would give it another try. Clearly the experience that we had at the Bath restaurant last Sunday night was not pleasant to say the least. I trust that other customers had a good time there but it was definitely not for us that night."
"We were able to to book a spot the day of and so glad we did so. After a long day of touring, we were ready for a good & hearty meal off of a menu dishes that us Americans were able to understand and recognize. The food was fresh, hot, and all of it was delicious between 4 of us. We had appetizers, pizza, soup, pasta dishes, desserts, & cocktails and were very pleased with it all. Service was outstanding, atmosphere was very nice also. Highly recommend."
"The pepperoni grande pizza was good, enough for two people. The drinks were kind of expensive. They definitely need more staff for attending the public. The fact that it is cashless, and we didn’t see any notice about this anywhere, was inconvenient for tourists like us who came from a different country/currency and just have money basically."
"Good food and service family of 12 service was prompt and efficient dishes varied from pizza, pasta to fish dishes everyone enjoyed their meal. Seating relatively spaced out and place was clean, staff friendly. We had pre booked due the numbers but were seated straight away. Restaurant does accept the blue light card get 25% discount"
