Reviews of Craven Heifer
"Stayed here on Saturday for the night. We were in room 5 triple which is ground floor at the back of the building. The room suited us as it was quite private and apart from the gale force winds in the middle of the night fairly quiet. The beds were comfortable, bathroom and shower adequate and the room nice and warm. The bar was not overly busy and had plenty tables and spacious seating. The staff were friendly and looked after their customers bringing drinks to the tables rather than have people waiting at the bar. We enjoyed the breakfast which was a help yourself continental or cooked breakfast with freshly made tea, coffee and fruit juices etc. I’m not usually one for leaving reviews but was surprised by some of the negative comments left previously by guests here. I thought the Craven Heifer and its staff were fantastic and we really enjoyed our stay. We will definitely be back soon."
"Stayed at the Craven Heifer Inn last night and although it's decor I feel was dated, it certainly has everything you need for a lovely stay. Great twin bedroom was lovely and warm on arrival , good shower/bathroom. The inn and bedrooms are spotless and the staff especially the young woman with ponytail (sorry didn't get her name) who served us in the dining room this morning was really friendly & hospitable. Lots of nods to the past with pictures and farming tools. We really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend and revisit . The only downside, a little out of the way for the Skipton town but a taxi was only £6. We could have walked it easily but my dog is old boy now. Breakfast was gorgeous and very well presented as was the help yourself breakfast or fruit juices, danish, fresh fruit, yogurt and cereal. Really good break the views from the Inn is also beautiful."
"Very clean, tidy nice rooms though tiny shower (room 11). Breakfast in the morning was perfect, even the milk for the Cereal was ice cold which was nice as so often you get luke warm milk at hotels. Service with a smile. Would stay here again. If you have a car, car park is a good size."
"Came in as a family of 4 ordered 3 soups to start this was very hot and tasty that's what the one star is for unfortunately this was only good thing about our experience. For mains we ordered 3 Sunday carvery and a medium fish and chips. Fish was burnt and dry, and what can I say about the carvery, must have been out all day, cold and dry pork v beef not cooked a good vet could have revived it. Gravy I can only describe as dish water tasteless and thin, no apology from the staff. Would not recommend anyone to visit"
"Dog friendly hotel and pub restaurant just a 5 minute drive from the centre of Skipton. No issue taking the dog to all areas (except the main dining room, though there is a dedicated dog friendly space for mealtimes). Staff were friendly and attentive to our large group - the TV remote was dead so one member of staff made a trip to Skipton the Friday night we arrived to replace them. Nothing too much hassle. Rooms clean and clearly recently renovated, with a decent amount of space and nice views. Lots of free car parking."
