"I really enjoyed my time there, everything was great except for the neighborhood which in my opinion there are better living areas in London as a student, but definitely worth the price. Vanessa is very helpful and things operate as they should"
"Tamsin and Vanessa are two very fine building managers at OH. They are caring, professional, friendly and they are very responsive when I have questions. Moreover, Tamsin and Vanessa would host Get To Know events and certain holiday events. These events make people feel even more welcoming and provides opportunity to make acquaintance with other people who lives in the building. Vanessa, Tamsin you two are the best! Highly recommend. About the location and the housing itself. It is a great location to get to NMUH, there are buses with walking distance of 1 minute, overground trains with walking distance of 5 minutes at Bruce Groove, and only about 15-18 minutes to Central London at Victoria line station. Walking distance about 30 minutes to NMUH. Shops are all walking distance, plenty of place to eat and shop. If you check the area to rent a studio, as of Sep. 15th 2022, it is about 1.3k-2k to get a decent studio. If the price is right at OH, then save yourself the unnecessary headache and book this place."
"Stayed 2021-2. I have absolutely no complaints about this accommodation. I thought they were consistently brilliant throughout my stay and consequently I would thoroughly recommend considering staying here if you are looking for student accommodation in London. Management. The staff were incredibly hard working and seemed to consistently display a professional and pleasant attitude, being friendly and approachable. All the staff were great, but a major shout-out must be made to Vanessa who was incredibly organised and approachable before I had even applied for the accommodation, and kept Opera House running for pretty much all the year. Room facilities. I stayed in a premium studio and was incredibly happy with the space and facilities. The room was clean, the kitchen area had a reasonable space dedicated to it and was easy to use (this includes an electric hob, microwave, sink with draining board, refrigerator, and kitchen worktop for preparing food). I was very pleased with my en-suite as well which was very reasonably sized. The bed, wardrobe, and desk were all exactly as I had hoped. For the most part rooms appeared to be relatively noise-isolated with more noise in the winter months but generally no major issues. The rooms can get very warm in the summer so I would recommend taking or buying a fan (it did not help that we had a major heatwave this year). I had no issue with any of the facilities all year and I would happily stay in this room again. Building facilities. Opera House contained many facilities including a gym, clothes washing facilities, bike storage (all basement), ground-floor communal area, a games room (first floor), a study room (second floor), a communal kitchen (third floor), and a roof garden with a view of Tottenham. I did not use these enough to comment on how most of them were, but it was great to know they were there. An effective washing rota seemed to ensure that everybody had a fair amount of time using the washing facilities. Location. I found the location perfect as it gave me the distance I needed from the city while still feeling like a part of everything; a definitive suburb in many ways. Personally, the time taken to get into the city never seemed that bad; it is a 10-20 minute journey on the tube (Tottenham Hale station is about a 5-10 minute walk, Seven Sisters is about a 10-15 minute walk), 10-15 minutes by train from Tottenham Hale Station to Liverpool Street Station, or 45-60 minutes by bus depending on the route and desired location. The tubes were usually running (despite the strikes which occurred in this year) and when they were not the buses were effective enough that if you planned your day in advance it made no issue. Opera Houseβs location seemed very safe as it is situated in a highly pedestrianised estate and is quite literally next to the police station. Overall, I would thoroughly recommend Opera House which I thought was incredibly organised for my stay and exceptionally reasonable for an accommodation in London. There are no criticisms I could make and I would very happily stay here again."
"The Opera House is an incredible place to live at. Vanessa and the staff are super kind and always follow up with their promises. The place is always so clean and they always surprise us with snacks and freebies. Itβs an awesome location to live because everything is close by in regards to shopping, grocery runs, food, etc. Iβm a third year medical student over here for 6 months and itβs nice to call this place home. Without question or doubt, I would sign another lease here!!!"
"I'm not originally from the UK. This is my first home in the country. It's close to supermarkets, so groceries aren't a problem at all. It's right next to a police station which gives me an assurance that it is safe at some point. Despite the busy surroundings, with the windows shut, there is minimal noise coming from outside which is good. I don't like sharing bathrooms so having my own bathroom in the flat is a plus. It's quite small, but it fits me well. There is also a small kitchen inside the flat, where heating and cooking is possible. There is a gym, which is a plus for those who don't want to pay any gym memberships. There is centralized heating and room temp can be adjusted. They are very understanding when it comes to rent payments and will consider your preference in terms of when payments can be made. By the way, laundry isn't exactly free here.. so most of the time I wash my clothes by hand.. and since there is no radiator, to hang my clothes on, they take more time to dry. But that's not really too much of a problem. I managed to make due. Also, sometimes the elevator gets stuck and it takes time to be fixed. But the stairs are easily accessible so that's great too. Like all residential buildings, your neighbors are a big factor to your stay. Sometimes my neighbors bang their doors and I can clearly hear it from inside my room which can be irritating. But despite these... Over all, everyone at the Opera House are clearly doing the best they can to a keep this building comfortable for us residents, they listen to suggestions and you can speak to them about any concerns you have and they will try to help you. This is a clean new place. I have been enjoying my stay here so far."
