Reviews of Lexi Cinema
"The Lexi is simply my favourite cinema anywhere, ever! Comfortable, great choice of movies, brilliant wine selection & super friendly staff. All this & a good heart, with profits going to an excellent social enterprise. Plus, the membership package is great value! Keep up the great work!"
"We are fortunate indeed to live near the Lexi, as it is a delightful cinema in so many ways. First it is comfortable and welcoming in both its cinemas. Secondly it is truly independent and consequently shows films hard to find in both major circuits and independent chains. One can enjoy a coffee or a beer and some nibbles at its 2 bars. AND it is very reasonably priced , offering generous discounts to those who join the Lexi club. Best of all, profits go to a worthy charity running a village in South Africa. So the Lexi provides a unique opportunity to help others while having a very good time. We love it! Diane and Len Harris. Both long ago retired film buffs."
"The cinema itself is a fantastic place. I love the interior and the charity concept. Moreover the prices are reasonable and there is a bar where you can get snacks. The chairs are comfy and volunteers are friendly and very kind. However the experience of watching the movie was spoiled by the other visitors who were chatting and even listening voice messages during movie. I was ready to tolerate that situation until one of them followed me and took a close-up photo of me when I was exiting the cinema without asking my permission. That really made me feel insecure."
"It's a really small, intimate cinema where I visited to watch a film premiere. The seats are plush and super comfy and the venue is tastefully decorated. They have a bar upstairs (Josh Bar) which serves a good variety of drinks. There's a bus stop directly outside the venue and Kensal Rise station is less than 5 mins walk away."
"I have been interested in this cinema well before the 2020 lockdowns. Luckily I've been invited to a guided tour by architect of a contemporary extension to the Lexi Cinema. The building is a composition of brick and stainless steel; a nod to the parapets of surrounding terraces that reflect the changing clouds above, blending with the sky. Looking forward to visit this local cinema soon."
