"Great location!"
"I was delighted to know I had the womens lounge membership. It really came in handy when I broke the Pro40 I purchased through Richtionary. They were calm and walked me through the whole returns process and now I have a brand new Pro40. Couldn’t be happier!"
"Over priced, no management whatsoever. Although pleasantly located and sized there are a number of issues here: 1) Lifts... The lifts keep going out of order more than they do go up and down... and it takes them forever to repair them. 2) Water & Pressure... It is about as consistent as having the 2 Bob bits... Sometimes it comes flying out at the speed of light, other times it comes out like a bad cough after a nights smoking. It also comes in 2 temperatures from the sink... Cold or enough to boil lobsters. 3) Rubbish collection... It currently looks like why the Simpsons had to move Springfield down there, it hasn't been collected in months and now it's impossible to get in the gate let alone to the bins. 4) There is no concierge so ignore what estate agents tell you... It's a free for all. 5) Window cleaning... I'm not keen on heights and I'm not hanging out the window to clean windows I got told would be cleaned, but when they say "they're cleaned regularly" I've had pigeon's dinner left on my window now for nearly 6 months, it's a pleasant reminder of how.... This place is. 6) Bike fob... Now you think this would be simple... It doesn't come with parking despite the underground car park having 300 spaces for 3 cars.... They advertise the bike rack but you can't get the bike down there via stairs or the broken lift so... Have to wait for a fob that they say they'll deliver but don't... Also... When you move in you register details with pavilions security (they don't tell you that you can do this) and even after that the security guard will have nothing better to do than come and put warnings on your car. 7) they tell you some are unfurnished but apparently there's a magic way to get furnished because you'll be told yours can't be then 2 doors down will magically have a company start furnishing it for you... It's interesting to say the least. 8) they tell you about the wonderful surround sound... Which requires the most expensive equipment known to man for it to actually work 9) hyperoptic is the only internet provider you can use... They're brilliant I can't fault them... But pointless if you're tied in a contract elsewhere. If you're thinking of picking Mercantile House... Don't. If you're thinking yeah it's quite expensive but it's a prime location... Don't. If you're thinking what's the worst that can happen... when this many things go wrong when everything is running normally I dread to think what will happen if there's a fire, a leak, a roof problem or something major... I assume at this rate you'd still be charged for everything and you'd never be able to live there again. ***UPDATE AS OF 30/06/2021*** It's all our fault according to HLM... We have been "vandalising the property" even though the communal door has stopped working (this happened on a Friday evening... Emergency contact was made as it states within 48 hours for a door related security issue - which I think is long but hey ho....it's now Wednesday and still no sign of repair). It also hasn't been vandalised the fob has stopped releasing the door, unless someone can rewire electronic systems then I'd be amazed that they bothered with Mercantile House considering all the shops/banks that are next door. The lifts were also broken by their own company who comes and furnishes apartments! Incredible! But no it's out fault. As for the bins which are collected every time Watford F.C. win a trophy that's also our fault for not being able to use the bins that are... Full..... Avoid this place, avoid at all costs, every person I've spoke to who lives here has said the same thing, "I'm out"."
"The worst residential place management to live under. The flats are really good newly built although not worth £950. The biggest issue to live in Mercantile house is the management you will never know who manages the building. Usually the building has water issue, you come tired from and open the tap to wash your hands there's no water. If you try to call the management Emergency team they will say it will take 24hrs for the issue to be resolved which means you can't wash your face for 24hrs. There are 2 lifts in the building 1 is broken since 3 months and no body cares and now the 2nd is broken since 2 weeks and no one cares when you call the building management they will tell you your enquiry has been logged and that's it. Plz plz plz if you pay money don't disturb your normal life by getting a flat in Mercantile house building. I dont want anyone to be in a condition I'm now. I have given them my notice and thankfully will get out of here soon and never ever want to see this place again."
