"Popped in for a quick lunch. Due to a technical issue they were only serving carvery style. We had the standard portion and it was lovely. Plenty of meat and as much veg as you like. Very glad we called in and the front of house staff were so welcoming."
"Came here after visiting a nearby garden centre and farm. Really looking forward to some food after letting the children play. We ordered in two orders on the same table. One order came and was eaten (a good half hour) before the other order came. When it came one dish wasn't what was ordered, the staff were really nice and friendly about it and said it was a till error as one ingredient was out of stock would I like a replacement/ substitute. Asked for rest without that ingredients. Wish I would have gone with a different dish, the bread was hard, the chicken overdone and hardly any sauce or flavour. Its described on the menu so we'll, melted cheese etc when in reality it is a slice of cheese that you get at a bbq. Very disappointed. My friends curry didn't taste of anything and my husbands pie barely had any meat in it. The server was lovely and came and offered a free cake away as she saw we had to wait too, the cake lifted my spirits but unfortunately it was very dense and most of it ended up in the bin. I personally wouldn't come again, it really put us off. It's a shame because the kids area was really good and staff really friendly but that's not enough to waste good money on poor quality food."
"Two weeks (8/9/22) ago my wife and I plus our adult daughter called in around noon for a meal each which was served piping hot and excellent. Today (22/9/22) we called in and all our carveries were tepid plus the beef was undercooked as were most of the vegetables, plates were barely warm and to be frank they should be ashamed. Little wonder the place wasn't busy if they can't maintain a good standard! On the way home I mentioned that as a retired engineer I had been in numerous company canteens over the years mainly staffed by local ladies who had/did run a home. The food was always hot and well prepared and they hadn't been to catering school like the so called "professionals". I suggest that Green King who own the place are deliberately instructing staff that their fuel bill cost needs to be reduced and it is beginning to show - for goodness sake get a grip, PS We won't be back. MY REVIEW ABOVE WAS " TAKEN ON BOARD" WAS THE RESPONSE I RECEIVED BUT THERE OBVIOUSLY WAS ONLY EMPTY SPACE BETWEEN THE EARS! A RECENT VISIT SHOWED THAT WE WERE BACK TO THE NORMAL POOR STANDARD AND I CAN SEE THE "WRITING ON THE WALL" FOR THIS ESTABLISHMENT IF THE MANAGER DOESN'T GET A GRIP OF THE KITCHEN IN THE PRESENT ECONOMIC CLIMATE! Visit on 10/11/22. Nothing has changed. Carvery at the start of serving was mostly tepid. There will be no more comments or complaints from me because we won't be visiting this place again. The burger bars down the road from there are better - and cheaper."
"Went here for the first time, the inside is really homely, very cozy! We placed our order from the app, and had two standard carverys. When we got up for our food, the display of the food looked absolutely devine! My only problem was that a few bits of the food could be improved... The roast potatoes were very solid, like I was eating crisps. The cauliflower was also quite hard, as I was expecting it to be a bit softer... Other than that, the rest of the food was amazing and we will definitely come back."
"It is an absolute disgrace, it should be shut down. No staff to make adult meals only carvery available which is cold and doesn't taste of anything. I came with my sister and ordered at the same time. Her kids meals arrived 20 minutes before my children so they sat and watched them eat. they told us they would be out soon instead 3 other families got served there meals before I got mine. Go to McDonald's or KFC next door yous get better service."
