"I can understand they sometimes have a problem ordering certain medications. On several occasions we were told they had none in stock, or a part order, and we were given an owing note for the balance, and to ring up beforehand to make sure the order had arrived. The problem is that they don’t answer the phone, or when they do, they put the receiver back down straight away. The excuse given was an issue with their phone over the last few days. I pointed out that this issue had been going on for weeks now, and this was backed up by a Tesco member of staff! The pharmacy weren’t telling the truth! We end up having to make special journey’s only to be told the stock hadn’t arrived yet. My partner needs the medication for her Parkinson’s and can’t simply stop taking it. Today was the last time we will use Tesco pharmacy."

"My last time using this pharmacy was a poor experience. Whilst queuing it was obvious to me that the staff knew I was there, but keeping an appropriate distance. When I moved forward, she turned her back and ignored me. This has been my experience on a few occasions, so I decided to see how long this would be for. As usual, she retreated behind the barrier to avoid being able to see customers, and was chatting away to the other member of staff - I could clearly hear that it was not work related. After 7 minutes I called out causing her to reappear with a scarcely believable "I didn't see you there". A significant portion of medication had not been prescribed by the GP, but this discrepancy had not been picked up or questioned despite me having my prescriptions from there for many years. I had run out of medication and the staff (as is increasingly common it seems the pharmacy) were completely dismissive of my needs, declined to phone the GP to get an electronic prescription for the missing items and refused me an emergency supply which they could have arranged with little bother. They appear to have a policy of just shrugging their shoulders rather than try to deal with a situation. I am now prompted to update this review as today I have phoned 78 times, the phone rings then they end the call. For many years I had excellent service from this pharmacy, but the last couple of years the staff attitudes have been very poor on a regular basis. Edit - I eventually got an answer shortly after posting this and the person was very helpful - thank you. If it was like this the rest of the time I would give 5 stars."
"I thought I would try the pharmacy whilst shopping so I didn' have to trail to the chemist...had to in the end due to the rubbish customer service I received. I wanted some cream to soothe/ moisturise my daughter's dry hands due to excessive handwashing/ hand sanitizer at school. There wasn't a queue..was told I would need a prescription as it was steroid cream...explained it wasn't eczema and I just needed something to soothe it . They just weren't interested at all...went to boots and came out with cream and sensitive soap"
"Today I visited the Pharmacy at the Tesco Extra store on Middle brook, Horwich, Bolton BL6. For several years I have been collecting my NHS prescription medication there every month. Since the outbreak of the COVID 19 pandemic, I have been printing out my name and address in large and clear font so that I would not need to remove my face-covering when collecting my medications. I have done this at least ten times; on one occasion, and assistant at the pharmacy remarked that she wished that everyone “was so well organised”. Today, however, was rather different. The assistant told me that she needed to hear me speak my address. I pointed out that my full address was printed on the sheet of paper that she was holding in her hand. She responded by insisting that she wanted to “hear me say it”. I pointed out that this was unnecessary and illogical. I remonstrated with the assistant who remained obdurate. A second member of the pharmacy personnel joined the discussion. This second person had dealt with my medication on at least one previous occasion, but she (of course) supported her colleague saying “it’s the policy” and pretended not to know me. Other pharmacy personnel who had also dealt with me before simply looked the other way. One would assume that, after at least 10 years of visiting this pharmacy, a more constructive and less belligerent manner would prevail. Could someone please explain the reason for this behaviour?"
