"Came in with a referral for my gp for an X-ray, refused to read the referral at reception and simply pointed at the iPad. Waited for 3hrs only to later be informed that they couldn’t take X-rays that evening and to come back tomorrow. Absolute joke and a complete waste of everyone’s time."

"Incredibly rude receptionist. She was belligerent to the patient in front of me (who was being perfectly well-mannered). When it was my turn, she abruptly cut me off before I'd even half explained my issue and tried dismissing me from the hospital. This was after I showed a hesitation to speak my personal issue aloud where a room full of people could overhear which she had zero empathy for. Rather than explain or show any sort of consideration, she told me I could "sign in anyway" even though she'd just told me my issue wouldn't be helped there - I think she just wanted to get me out of her hair and didn't care whether I was helped. That said, the triage nurse was incredibly polite and did an excellent job of quickly explaining what I should do about my issue. She was very apologetic and when I mentioned how horrendous the receptionist was, she seemed quite ashamed. I feel guilty that I didn't get the receptionist's name or I would have taken it further. We're in urgent care because we're hurting and we're stressed. It costs nothing to show a bit of empathy and consideration just as the nurse did. Believe me, if we weren't desperate, we wouldn't be there. Why work in healthcare if you don't actually care for people?"
"Attended Wednesday 9th November, arrived at 8:15 without an appointment. receptionist was polite and professional. I used the sanitiser and then self-checkin ipads along the back wall. One other person was waiting in reception. Was seen by a nurse in 15mins, went for Xray, was only person in waiting area, Xray receptionist was polite, efficient and professional, had Xray within 15mins."
"I visited the Urgent Care at Queen Mary’s Hospital this evening, and I would like to say that I have not been treated with such respect and care in a long time. The staff all introduced themselves by their first names, Margaret the nurse was amazing and made me feel welcome. The doctor Helen was brilliant, she allowed my husband to come in with me as I was quite anxious. She checked me over, and really quickly put me at ease explaining everything in great detail and even showing me examples online. I would highly recommend Queen Mary’s Urgent Care Unit for quick and expert care. Thank you to everyone who helped me through my visit, including the gentleman who was on reception, whose name I didn’t get (sorry). He was funny and made me laugh and put me at ease straight away. Xxxxxxx"
