"Had to sit on the phone for an hour and was then told that they have no idea when travel clinic appointments would be released or available. No way of then letting me know either, I just have to keep ringing at random points and hope for the best. Utterly ridiculous. Was then told I have to submit a form before the appointment, well I work and can’t just have random time off when I don’t have an upcoming appointment to justify having to leave early to hand in a form that doesn’t guarantee me an appointment. I can’t submit it online or email it. This needs to be changed. Recently I was waiting on my referral for an assessment, was told they had sent it (and I knew I had to wait 18 months) this passed, I checked and they hadn’t even sent it and tried to tell me they hadn’t had it when others said they had. They did have it, just sat on it for 18 months, made me come in to apologise to me, when all I wanted was for it to be sorted. Utterly shocking all round. Completely impossible to get anything done."
"Had to contact a few times over the last few weeks as elderly uncle unwell. The reception staff and the doctors were excellent - phone backs, appointments, physical examination. Everything was done promptly and effectively. Many thanks to you all, for all you do"
"Why are Longrove Surgery (located at Vale Drive, Barnet) public service so appalling? Why they don't care at all for their users/patients? Last Friday I called them for 40 minutes and no-one answered the phone; went there then in person and only one person was in front of me and already talking to the receptionist, so I only waited one minute. When I asked why they don't answer the phone they said they were too busy (not that I could see it, as they were talking to their colleagues in a leisurely way). I was then asked to leave my details and would get a call the following week to book an appointment. One week has passed and no-one called me. Why? Very very low public service, they simply do not care, despite being paid to do their job properly. Why are they even open?"
"I had a long overdue asthma check yesterday, with a pharmacist at Longrove Surgery. I've had asthma all of my life and have moved a couple of times, so have had many asthma check ups at different GP surgeries. Hands down the best appointment yesterday. The Pharmacist was brilliant, if I could give her more stars I would. She was patient, listened and gave thorough and informative advice. She checked my blood pressure, weight and inhaler technique(a first for me, as I've only ever had peak flow done). She then gave me advice on how to manage my episodes and use my inhalers efficiently. Extremely good appointment. New inhalers ordered and other follow up appointments booked. Couldn't ask for a better check up. Lovely receptionist greeted me at the desk. She smiled and booked me in with no issues. I did wait sometime to be seen, but this was probably my fault as I was 3 minutes late for my appointment."
"Went for a covid booster jab with my wife this morning. My Covid card was not completed with any the details of vaccine I received. I went back later to ask them about it. The old guy at check-in desk told me to ignore it and I can get the details in a week's time from the NHS website. But my wife's card was completed as usual by at another station. Wonder why they bother handling out the Cards with my name and booking time on it which has no details of the vaccine administered."
