This hospital was superb. The staff were very sympathetic and helpful. The facilities were excellent. The whole experience showed us what we are missing in public medicine. Why on earth have we let this happen?"

"The one star is only there because Prof. Imam did a very successful surgery for my husbands rotator cuff. We are extremely happy with him. My husband flew over seas to get surgery; so we did our research on surgeons as well as pricing. Keep in mind we were very careful getting everything in writing on pricing/costs. Once arriving at the hospital the price was more than provided. The cost of the anesthetist was not included on the bill (forgotten) and we were told no additional fees for paying by credit card but were charged (also in writing) but an additional 3.5% was charged up front. After flying overseas and already paying for flights and accommodations we were not in a position to argue over pricing and delay surgery. We are now trying to resolve this issue but not having any luck."

"5 Star experience from start to finish. Underwent a major operation under the expert hands of Joseph Windley and team. From pre-op to post-op, I can honestly say that all the staff at the New Vic Hospital are caring, compassionate human beings, dedicated to helping you recover as quickly as possible. Treated with dignity, respect, and involved in decision making throughout five day stay. I wish I could do a "shout-out" for everyone; Dr's, Nurses, Physio's, Pharmacists, Porters, Reception, Imaging, ....etc You "ALL" deserve recognition and work so well as a high quality care team. Special mention to the Nurses, never once did you ignore my requests and leave me waiting. Moreover I appreciated your pro-active advice, friendly banter, keeping me informed and when I had my "funny turn" I was amazed that within seconds, Rita had surrounded me with 3 nurses and a Physio, all focussed on my health and well-being. Food was great, always on time with very generous portions and a varied selection for most diets. Bedrooms were quiet, well presented, some with a garden view too. When you are at your most vulnerable, you could not wish for a better care team. I will miss all the friendly faces, thank-you for helping me get better."
