Reviews of The Princess Margaret Hospital
"Looking at the comments regarding this hospitals reception area I'm not surprised, today i experienced the same which had led me to leave this review. I arrived on time for my blood test but unfortunately had left my form at home so i just wanted the receptionist to ask the phlebotomist if its possible i can go home quickly and come back as i live very close. The receptionist didn't smile to greet and she said well your late now they will probably not see you and you'll need to reschedule, i said if she can at least ask, While she was on the phone to ask, another patient arrived who was also having bloods and was after my appointment and i asked if this patient can take my place and to ask if thats ok. She was then rolling her eyes and had a terrible attitude, I said to her you're acting rude instead of helping find a solution and she said to me “your trying to get someone else to take your place!” …i couldn't understand why that was a bad thing? If anything its a productive suggestion, surely a receptionist should be looking at the patients best interest if of course the option was possible, No harm to ask. The phlebotomist came To reception and she said if im quick they will do my blood test so i immediately rushed back to get my form and when i returned there was an additional lady in reception as i approached the desk i went to this new lady first as i knew the service i was getting from the other lady, the rude receptionist said to the other lady “this is the patient i was on about” and then started smirking whilst i was speaking to the other lady, The other lady turned out to be the manager, she wasn't wearing a badge so i couldn't see at the time but i just told the lady as you can see thats not professional shes smirking while I'm speaking. I then asked sorry but are you a manager? And she replied yes, I didn't have time to discuss as i was being called in for my blood test. After my test i asked the manager if we can have a chat in private. She apologised for not wearing her badge, I said to the manager you saw her smirking whilst saying to you “this was the patient i was on about” which was a rude comment, the manager said “no she was just smiling at you to greet you”. It was at this point i knew there was just no point in me bringing this to her attention as she was there when it happened and witnessed how she was behaving herself. We closed the conversation and i thanked her for her help, she said she would look into it as its not the receptionists usual behaviour (even though she was there to witness the attitude herself), Looking at other similar comments hopefully someone will pick up on this pattern from the reception area and look into front house training. Overall was just unnecessary service that didnt have to become an issue, i will stick to other hospitals and travel further just for the kind reception and customer service."
"My GP referred me to this hospital to have an mri scan. According to the referral letter I had to book a date. There was no available dates whatsoever, so after two weeks I rang and left a voicemail. You guessed right. No reply. Luckily for me, I realized that I was a Frimley hospital patient and had my mri the next day on a Saturday after I rang them up. Difficult to think when you are in pain and also must work and manage everyday life. My advice is to avoid, avoid this place unless you are wealthy. Try to get to Camberley even if you are really unwell or go abroad and have your surgery there. If I could climb the airplane stairs I would be on my way to Hungary to be operated on but unfortunately one has to wait for that in this country even with deep vein trombozis caused by huge fibroids while I am working. The best way to be treated is to get to A&E then manage everything from there. Your life might depend upon it as was mine."
"Came here on the 6/12/22 to have a consultation with my surgeon, who is lovely by the way and I'm very happy that I saw him. The greeting I received by the reception staff was disgusting and plain rude. Rolling her eyes at me and huffing and puffing! Even on my way out, she gave my a horrid look. A person like that should not be working in customer facing roll, there's plenty of reviews about the rude staff here. As a self funding patient I do not expect to be treated like that. I have agreed to see my surgeon at a different hospital to carry out my op. I do not recommend this hospital at all based on the unfriendlyness of the staff."
"Honestly probably one of the worst private hospitals you will find. Nightmare to get through to anyone, imaging department NEVER answer the phone or call back, they probably still haven’t listened to my voicemail which was left over a month ago. You have to constantly chase staff in order to get a reply back, nearly got booked in for an MRI when the doctor knew I was pregnant (negligence for not checking notes), another doctor said he forgot about me, it’s only after I chased a week later that it got escalated back to the previous doctor. I’ve still not heard back from the PA and will probably have to be transferred to 7 different people before I get anywhere. It’s an absolute joke."
