Reviews of Edwardian Tea Rooms
"As a vegetarian I was pleased that they had coronation chickpea sandwiches which were delicious. Unfortunately it would have been nice to have our tea at the same time as rhe food. The system here is crazy! We waited half an hour for the tea! Our sandwiches long finished! At least they did give me oat milk, much to my husbands consternation as he had to have it too! Hehe"
"Very disappointed, was recommended to come here for breakfast as it was a nice space and not too busy. Those statements were correct but the quality of the breakfast was very poor. We were one of the 1st people in and the bacon was dried out 1/2 slice and the sausage was the lowest quality I have seen in a very long time. The hash browns were obviously cheap frozen version. The eggs, tomatoes and beans were the only good things of the breakfast. The cappuccino was flat with no froth. For what is a wonderful location they really need to change the catering company to someone who can deliver quality food. Will not return until this happens. Very sad"
"The Edwardian Tea Room is fabulous for a warm afternoon tea with family or friends. The staff were very friendly and took our request for pescatarian sandwiches. However, keep in mind that they have a different menu of sandwiches everyday and they may not be able to entertain such a request everyday. The whole place has a semi-vintage vibe and the gallery has a roof that allows a lot of sunlight to come in which makes it a wonderful experience for a sunny day."
"Overall a nice place to chill out and have a coffee. Only concern, is the system of service. I think making the hot drinks and getting them at the counter would be more beneficial than doing table service, as it just created a back log of orders. Nearly waited 20 minutes for a pot of tea! Haha but staff were very apologetic and kind."
"Waited a full 25 minutes for 3 English Breakfast teas and a hot chocolate (which came after 10 minutes), and that was only after waiting 15 minutes before complaining as clearly orders after our were being sent out. The Hot Chocolate was cold (the clue is in the name that it is meant to be hot), and then a server turned up with another one before the teas finally showed up (one of the tea pots was leaking it made a mess of the table, which we tried to clean up), so either I was given someone else's or they made two thinking the entire order was missed. It really shouldn't be difficult to handle such a simple order, smacks of total disfunction in the operations. Certainly won't be going here again, really poor. I hate slating places and very rarely ever do (check my reviews if you don't believe me), however, this is probably the worst run tea room I've ever been to, that vast majority I give praise to, it pains me to write this review, but I have to be honest with readers."
