Reviews
"Stayed for three nights and this three star hotel was OK. The staff were friendly when we arrived and allowed us to check in early, pointing out the sites of Chester which was good. Our room was warm and had two single beds pushed together to create a double, as well as a single bed to go with it. It had a wardrobe to store clothes, plenty of drawers, TV, Tea and coffee as well as an iron, ironing board and hairdryer. The bathroom was spacious and clean. The bed itself was very comfortable despite not being a double. The hotel itself is an older building so the room we stayed in was tired. There were many cracks in the ceiling and the door we had was an old yale lock system that was confusing to begin with. The bath water was extremely hot, but eventually could be balanced with cold water to create a nice bathing experience. Small bottles of shower gel and soap were provided. Rooms were serviced each day and tidied with amenities used being replaced. However, there was no sign of any bedding being replaced. This wouldn't normally be a problem but me and my wife were bitten on more than one night by bed bugs which put a dampener on what had been quite a nice stay."
"Had a nice over night stay here. Rooms are slightly dated but if you're just staying over it does the job. The bed was very comfortable! Staff were friendly and accommodating. Great central location, right next to the train station. I would stay here again."
"Not the best experience, but it was cheap! The rooms were small and very noisy in terms of creaky floorboards - heard neighbour's every move and from rooms above. Bed was very uncomfortable. Plenty of hot water, but bathroom was dirty and in desperate need of a refurb., Room was nice & warm (December). Location was great. Reception Service person was polite and helpful."
"Stayed in Hallmark inn for two nights last Feb. 20-22 with my husband and 3 year old boy. We had the classic family room. The room is good for 4 people. Cleanliness was well-maintained and I’m so happy about it. Floor creaks which makes you extra cautious walking about the room. The establishment boasts history as well. The temperature of the room had been quite warm we had to leave the window a bit open to get some cool air in. Staff are accommodating and friendly. Just a little downside was the restaurant not open or even a vending machine would’ve been good to get cold drink in the middle of the night if you fancy. All in all we had a comfortable stay and good experience staying in Hallmark inn hotel. Will recommend to my friends and family. Will stay again as well."
"Reception staff lovely and with good humour, breakfast very good and delicious. Hotel appearance and decor very interesting and cool. Room itself fine but no tea in room, drawers were broken, bare bulb in lamp holder with no shade, bulbs very low so couldn't brighten room well. An alarm went off in the middle of the night which is understandably not an every night occurance but was horrible. 4/5 stars. Was cheap and fine."
