"We went with Starck and Uberoi due to the good reviews they had online, but sadly our experience wasn't a positive one. We were disappointed by the lack of communication and constantly having to reach out for updates as the step by step app was never updated - not once. The estate agent of the seller was ringing us and asking why it was taking so long to close the deal as it should have been a quick, but all in all it took just over 12 weeks despite being a chain free sale on both sides (we were first time buyers). We were left in limbo because we moved out of our rental and had to move into temporary accommodation due to the length of time it was taking to close the sale, costing us extra money in movers and rent. No initiative was taken where needed, for instance, to instruct us on what to do until we had to rush to sort things out. One example is that we both had Help To Buy ISA's and were not told ahead of time to close the accounts, so by the time we did it meant we didn't receive a closing statement in time and had to rush to the bank out of the blue to get copies of them. If we were told to do this a few days earlier, this would not have had to happen. Another example is when it came to exchanging contracts, we paid the initial 10% deposit and despite offering to transfer the full amount (inc. solicitors fees etc) we were told to wait for a final statement, which took days to be sent to us on a Friday afternoon. We transferred the rest of the fees early afternoon and weren't told until 5pm that they didn't have our money in their account. We frantically called the bank who said it had been transferred to them 100%. Due to it being a Friday afternoon, it took a long time to get through and by the time we had (a few minutes past 5:30pm), Starck and Uberoi had closed for the weekend. I called, emailed - no reply. So we had to sit tight all weekend (just so happened to be my birthday) not knowing if they had the money or if this meant that we could proceed with the exchange on the planned day. It was a nightmare from start to finish so I wouldn't recommend Starck and Uberoi to anyone else. I was incredibly disappointed by their service and don't think it was worth what we paid for it, there are far cheaper solicitors in the local area."

"On August 26, 2022 I was contacted by a Starck Uberoi assistant solicitor on behalf of his clients, the owners of our "rental" property. It was obvious from the content of the email that the assistant solicitor was completely unaware of, shall we say "malfeasance" on the part of the owners in relation to the rental property. I replied by return, via email, outlining all the facts relating to the case, not least the "mealfeasance" involved. The lines of communication went dead and have remained dead ever since, apart from a brief reply to an email, to which he knew he had no other choice but to reply, on 22 October. My husband and I need this matter resolved immediately as our lives have been put "on hold" resulting in severe stress and anxiety. I have, therefore, contacted the firm today suggesting that help and guidance is provided as I feel this assistant solicitor is in "over his head" leaving him unable to deal with the hitherto unknown complexities of this case.
