Reviews of Premier Inn Chester (Railway Station) hotel
"We arrived after 3pm and had a very quick check in (possibly the quickest we’ve ever had!). Stayed 1 night, front desk had a convenient section to take extra tea bags, milk etc back to your room without having to ask staff so that was pleasant. It isn’t negative (just wondering if the hotel will read it) but found that the toilet was very hard to flush and the kettle was a bit dodgy so if you forgot you’d put it on it would have just kept on boiling. Other than that it was a lovely sleep so will definitely use this hotel again in the future! We used the The Queen at Chester hotel parking which is a 5 min walk (located by the train station) which was £12 for 24 hours. Booked ahead which was easy to set up. You don’t have to do anything when you park as the hotel has a list of all the bookings. Enjoy!"
"Exactly what you expect, with friendly and helpful staff. Decent shower for once, good pubs nearby. Parking is in the basement, quite limited, and paid. We found that if arriving after 6 and leaving fairly early then it was cheaper to park on the road outside."
"Stayed over Christmas and had a great time. The hotel was, understandably, short staffed and then had IT issues thrown in. The staff - especially Charlotte, kept their cool and sorted everything out efficiently including a forced room change mid stay. The hotel itself is exactly what you expect, no more, no less. What made it for us was the wonderful staff. Premier Inn, this is aimed at you… look after your staff! They turn the negatives into 5 star reviews! Thanks Charlotte and all the team!"
"I can say that the best thing about the hotel was that they, to my surprise and delight, allowed me to shorten my stay from two nights to one. This arose due to travel problems on my intended date of departure. After I checked in, I asked for the breakfast to be cancelled. I then heard, to my dismay, that dinner did not start till 6 p.m. It had been 5 p.m. at other Premier Inns. When I got to my room I received an email confirming the cost of my stay. It included the breakfast. I went back to reception and pointed this out to the person I had seen earlier. He said it took 3 to 5 working days to come through. I said that I knew that but that elsewhere emails about cancellations showed that a refund had been made. He repeated the mantra about the 3 to 5 days and said that he would check it. That only applies if someone has processed the refund. He hadn't and I got it done when I rang their head office a week later. Although I was waiting to get into the restaurant area at 5.55 and had said that I knew what I wanted to order, no-one took my food order till 6.10. The food didn't arrive till 6.40. Earlier my drinks order (a pint of diet coke with no ice, slice or straw) was brought to me with ice in it.I rejected it and I was told that the message had not been passed on. As I waited, the receptionist came and asked if I wanted my food delivered to my room. What? Where had that idea come from? It seemed as though they didn't want me in the restaurant. Most unwelcoming. I pointed out that I had asked for the starter and the main to be brought out at the same time. That same person disturbed my meal to ask how it was. I had to point out that, at that time, I wanted to eat the food not discuss it. 10 minutes later someone else asked me the same question and got the same reply. At one point, early on, one of the restaurant staff tripped and nearly fell as he caught his foot against a leg of the chair I was sitting on. What's the hurry? Most unprofessional. When I had finished eating, I opted to go and pay the bill at the bar. I wasn't going to wait all evening for someone to notice that I had finished. I had a very early start the next day. When I used the toilet near reception when I went to collect my case and bag from storage, I found that there was no hand gel. In a toilet that is probably used by more people than any other in the place, I found that to be DISGUSTING."
