Reviews of The School of the Science of Acting
"I studied at the academy between 2015-2019, having seen some rather strange and negative reviews i figured it best to shed some light. As a student who was permanently expelled, I could easily be negative, but I can't find anything to be critical about. The training you receive here, if you adhere to it and of course, you would not attend if you was not willing to so you will, is unrivalled. It truly is the greatest approach to an Actors craft with direct links to Stanislavski's, difference is this has been tried, tested and proven time and time again. If you are not dedicated to your profession and to becoming the best you can possibly be (in terms of acting and directing at least) then yes, this place is not for you. If you think you have what it takes, you'd be putting yourself in the best position a actor in training could be in; realistically. The ultimate training and best way to utilise the academy would be the 4 year Acting/Directing course, but any time you can spend here would be nothing but beneficial for you and your career."
"I received best education and knowledge that I could ever wish for. The tutors are their 24/7 to provide quality teaching. They gave me point of reference and tools on how to be the best actor. I'll forever be grateful for the care I received throughout my 3 years training. If you really, really want to take your acting profession into the next level. Contact them directly. They offer both full time and part time course."
"I moved to London in 2009 from Iceland to pursue a career in acting. The Science of Acting was absolutely brilliant, very approachable, clear and concise and has helped me work on loads of amazing characters! In addition to that, the Academy runs a directing course alongside the acting course, which means as an acting student you have the opportunity to act right away, which is rare and invaluable. You must practice what you are taught and the Kogan Academy certainly allows for that!"
"I began my time at the Kogan Academy on their evening course, which I found to be the most comprehensive part-time course in London having taken evening classes at other drama schools. The teaching motivated my belief that I could become a professional actor to such an extent that I gave up my day job and transferred to the full time BA Hons in Acting. In my second year I also enrolled on the supplementary Directing course, which is quite unique in its nature in terms of vocational directing training in the UK. The training I received was amazing. Not only have I become a much better actor and director, but I learnt a lot about myself. The process also concentrates on self-development, challenging yourself & your habits, what you perceive to be unattainable and replacing it with the inspiration and desire to having a fulfilling life and career. The teachers really do care about your development and invest a lot of time into ensuring your progress. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who is even remotely interested in learning how to act and direct."
"Loved this academy! Had the best 4 years there! Learned so much about acting, directing and myself there. Also got the knowledge and confidence to start my own theater company and put myself out there. Since I graduated in 2012 I've done two productions with my theater company, been an AD at the City Theater in Reykjavik, taken a play to a theater festival and now I'm working on a play about Icelandic Love Stories where I use love stories from your average Icelander to create the script. Also done a lot of teaching, readings, workshops and directing Drama Clubs. If you are really interested in studying drama, this is the school for you, because you'll learn a lot!"
