"As I was unable to procure an appointment with my General Practice for nearly a week I was advised to contact this service. Having given the minimum details I was offered an early ,although not optimum, appointment for the next day . Additionally , I was put on their late cancellation list. Unfortunately I missed a call offering me one an hour later . Subsequently I got a cancellation from my GP and was therefore able to free up the appointment allocated earlier by this wonderful Group. I was extremely impressed by the professional, courteous and extremely helpful service I received. Please broadcast this Group to friends and family who may find themselves struggling to get appointments, , are concerned, worried or anxious and then may plan to visit A & E . "Called up earlier today and was offered an appointment in 30 minutes time. Couldn't get a convenient appointment with my normal doctor/nurse for several weeks so was really impressed with the service. I was seen before my appointment time and the nurse was lovely. I would throughly reccomend this service."
"After phoning my own doctors at Ashton Medical Centre 60 times and getting no answer I phoned GP Alliance. Fantastic, the lady on the phone was very helpful and arranged me an appointment at Ashton Medical Centre for the same evening. Saw a lovely Doctor, Doctor Khan and wouldn't think twice about using this service again."
"Had appointment at 1.30pm, and was only 1 other patient waiting so was hopeful I would be seen soon. I had been having pain in my collarbone and shoulder and my hand keeps turning blue and painful. I do have a history of heart disease and waited as patient after patient came in and were seen, often before they had time to take a seat. I was feeling more and more unwell, the receptionist seemed to spend a lot of time on her mobile ignoring me. After 70 minutes I went to the desk and said I'm going home as I'm feeling too unwell to continue waiting, advised her I was beginning to get chest pain and that I would try to see my own doctor on Monday. Her response was if you're sure. I actually volunteer on the help desk for the NHS and don't think this was a professional way to deal with someone clearly ill. I have only ever used the service once or twice before but today was both an appalling service and negligent. I rarely go to the doctors despite medication for life and life limiting illnesses. Felt worthless, when it takes a lot of effort for me to go to my normal gp but such was how ill I felt/feel. I will never use this service again and I think some retraining needs to be done in regard to the receptionist. Beggars Belief."
