"This hospital is an absolute nightmare, resembling a hellish place on earth. If you find yourself in the accident and emergency department, prepare to stay overnight, regardless of your arrival time or condition, as staff lack the necessary care and resources. The waiting times are dreadful, and the majority of the encountered staff are either inexperienced or lack basic people skills and compassion. The environment is dirty and constantly chaotic, with individuals shouting, vomiting, fighting and arguing, including the staff. If feasible, I highly recommend seeking alternative hospital options to avoid the distress and horror of Whiston Hospital, which is a complete disgrace. During a 16 hour period, my sister's observations were only monitored once and were not checked again until we finally saw a doctor. The doctor was shocked to learn that no one had checked her condition for over 12 hours, despite her obvious illness and suffering. It is heart wrenching to witness the number of people who come in for emergency treatment but are forced to leave due to the inadequate conditions, lack of expertise, and limited resources available."

"Attended A&E the Dr ho seen me whas outstanding went above and beyond explained everything to me also reassurance given to me Michael gaskell march 11th 2023 all staff where very caring"
"Absolutely terrible. My 87 year old Nan had to wait 16 hours in A&E, through the night with no sleep as she was sent in for an urgent procedure. 111 didn't transfer the result over to A&E so had to start all over again. Everyone with Flu and Covid were mixed in with other people, hardly anyone had masks on despite them being available to people and an announcement asking for them to be worn. Staff were rude but also very stretched and understandable with whats going on. Hospital beds lining the corridors full of very sick people, and ambulances queued up with patients having nowhere to go that were being admitted. Very very sad to see. If you can go to your GP or walk in centre, I'd try there if it's nothing life threatening."
"The shortest children's A&E visit i have ever had. Yes it was a quiet Thursday lunchtime but I was impressed with everything I encountered at Whiston Hospital and the service provided was swift, caring and competent."
