Reviews of Leeds City College - Printworks Campus
"Everyone is so kind and humble I feel even more respected than in my high school the students are so kind and respectful and I made such good friends and acquaintances. Can’t stop loving this collage."
"Really disappointed with this college... My son applied for a course around Christmas time. He doesn't think his Gcse grades will be very good - this was explained over the phone and on the application form. He's been for an interview today and he hasn't been accepted for the course he wants because his predicted grades are poor. He said the lady wasn't very nice. Like she didn't want to be there. He's 16, never had an interview before. He's been through a lot over the last 5 years. If the lady would have asked him why his grades would be poor then maybe she might have had a better understanding of his situation. If a child has enthusiasm for a course isn't that worth more.....??"
"I am still a current student at leeds city college an can confirm most of the problems raised by these reviews are correct. I was on an apprenticeship with LCC for 8 months just for them to tell me they didn't log me on their system so I would have to restart at the workplace I was at. I contacted them during the 8 months on many many occasions for them to say they will deal with it but they never did. I then started a level three course in finance and business and even on this course it is evident that teachers are stretched between classes and the head of years don't seem to care about our learning. I completed an assignment for my actual grade two months ago and it still hasn't been marked by my teacher. I reached out to her and texted her on our google group to which she read my comment and chose not to reply. This has happened to half of my class so it isn't just me. The layout of classes is poor as I could be in for two hours one day but have a two hour break in between. I have to travel halfway across leeds (roughly an hour and a half) to go to college to be told sometimes my teachers aren't even in. My class has changed three times with three different timetables. Organisation isn't a strong suit for LCC. I also applied for the bursary and as of writing this I still haven't received my bursary despite the college telling me they will sort it. It has been a shambles of an experience but I am glad that my hard work paid off for me and I will hopefully go to the university I wish to go to. I would never recommend this college there's been top many mistakes and cause for error for me to do so."
"Extremely poor in every respect. The good reviews are done by students while they're in class at the behest of the teachers. The college has a monopoly on education in Leeds an doesn't care about people learning just about pass rates and funding. If you want to pass a course with no learning or effort then it's ideal. If you want to really learn something then find somewhere else to go."
"A very beautiful piece of Leeds history. Recommend a look when covid allows."
