Reviews of Phoenix Theatre
"A really beautiful theatre in a great location. Staff were really friendly and helpful and the show itself is fantastic! We sat at the back of the stalls (row Q, really good value) and while the leg room was pretty decent, we are both plus size so the width of the seats wasn't very comfortable (as with most old theatres). Luckily we were on the end of our row with nobody in front of us so staff let us move to spread out once the show started. We attended during a heatwave so it was very hot in the theatre - we were grateful the show is so short (1.5hrs) with no intermission on such a sweaty day!"
"Come Far Away is a fantastic production and a great story I never knew. It's 2.5hrs with no interval so be careful on the drinks. A tear jerker in parts, very well written with just 12 cast members playing both the airline passengers stranded due to the events of 9/11, and also the locals of the town which took them in for 5 days. Would put this musical on par with Hamilton and Dear Evan Hansen - highly recommended"
"The phoenix theatre is a lovely traditional London theatre. We sat in the Dress Circle Row F, seats 9 and 10 - these are greats seats with an excellent view. Leg-room isn’t the best but no worse than other traditional London theatres (and marginally better than some). Women’s toilets up in the dress circle on the right side only had 2 toilets but wasn’t a problem so they must have been other toilets around. Come from Away is an excellent show (its my second time seeing it). The show doesn’t have a break which is perfect for the storyline but good to be aware of prior to the show from a drinks/toilet perspective."
""Come from Away" is a fantastic, heartwarming play. The theatre itself is quite large, but there's attentive staff placed strategically to help. Couple of tips: 1) If you walk upstairs, main ladies toilet is at the back of the back of the dress circle. Don't bother standing in a queue to the toilet near the bar, the one at the dress circle is larger and usually has no queue at all. 2) Grand Circle and Dress Circle are easy to get mistaken - especially that they have seats numbered the same way. If you are unsure just ask the staff - they are all very nice and helpful. 3) The show is quite long and has no break - make sure you buy your drink/go to the loo beforehand."
