"Open day visit.. Nice modern build and also near the white rose centre, so is on most bus routes for students."
"I've been terrified of this school for years but finally going to post this. I was accused of vandalism I did not commit over apparent screenshots of me admitting to it that they refused to show me. They questioned me as a minor without a parent or any representative or witness. When they asked where I was on specific days I couldn't. In an attempt to help I admitted a red marker of mine had gone missing recently. They continued to push and eventually forced me to expose private medical information which is that I have dissociative memory loss. They immediately accused me of lying and said if this was true I would be sectioned permanently, in the most flagrantly disgusting display of ableism I've experienced in my entire life. Whilst I was triggered and having a panic attack, they took my phone without my permission and said I wasn't to have it until they called my mother. When they did she confirmed my dissociative memory loss. Mysteriously the bills they threatened to send and charges they were filing never came through after that. They then escorted me from the building and banned me from it. This college is a horrific institution that will work you to death for their own gain and is trigger happy on disabled and neurodivergent students stepping a single hair out of line. DO NOT GO HERE. DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE. I promise you anywhere is better. Sad part is some of the teachers aren't that bad but the institution itself is horrible. I promise you'll regret it if you go here. Everyone I know who went does and that is over 30 people. Not all of them are my mates either. Most of them aren't actually. I was also made aware by several other students that after I was kicked from the school, at least one teacher OPENLY TO A CLASS OF MY PEERS ridiculed and belittled me, and compared me to a character that is depicted as overly stubborn and doomed for failure. No, I'm not kidding. I have several consistent witnesses for that. I was 17. In summary; this school is a house for ableism and unprofessionalism dressed up fancy enough that you don't notice until you live it. They're awful to any students in a minority and they clearly care about grades more than student's lives. I was a child, and them responding to me as if I am a criminal to be cast out was immensely traumatising in my youth, which is why it's taken me a good 3-4 years to post this. I beg of you to find somewhere else. Find somewhere else for yourself. Find somewhere else for your kid, if you're a parent. Find somewhere else. They'll suck the life out of you there."
"Don't bother applying unless you go to a partner school. Absolutely wasted my time giving me a conditional offer, inviting me to the induction day and then giving me a phone call just to tell me I didn't get a place because they priotise students who go to partnered schools and they were overbooked because of this. Oh and when I asked them out of curiosity roughly how many places are taken by students from partnered schools, they completely ignored me. So if you ever do apply here and they tell you there are "500 places available", just know that if you are going to a non partnered school it is less than 200 places available for you. I really looked forward to going here, but after not getting the place it opened my eyes to how 2 faced the college is. Shame."
"In my daughter's last year of high school she was diagnosed with irlens syndrome, previous years parents evening I was always told she talked a lot, easily distracted, she had constant headaches reading from white paper. Once accepted to attend Elliott Hudson college they supported her 100% adapted the lighting, ordered coloured paper, today was results day and has gained double distinction and a distinction for her to progress to northumbria university I cannot speak highly enough for Elliott Hudson college and the tutors in health and social care at Elliott Hudson and would highly recommend .. you are all truly marvelous and have shaped my daughters future."
"So disappointed. RSVP’d for the open day, made my way all the way to leeds using several busses and trains only to get there and not be able to find the entrance. I spoke to many other people who also couldn’t find the entrance. I searched using google maps and asking people and could never find it. Wasted journey, wasted money. They should’ve made the entrance more visible, gate was locked shut!"
