"My daughter used to go one day a week. It did take her quite long to settle but she was generally ok throughout the year - just a few tears at the door in the morning. When I visited last year, the rooms looked nice and clean. The daily menu looks ok and the playground is small but probably ok for the number of children they have. What I didn't like is the high staff turnover - it probably had an impact on children not being able to settle in quickly and well. Also, the nursery signed up to Tapestry but staff don't seem to use it to its full potential. Pieces of paper are given out daily instead of just uploading information on the website. Sometimes it took months for reports to be uploaded and when I started asking I was told (for 4 weeks) that the system was down...When the reports are written, (some of them) do not contain capital letters and full stops. I find it very unprofessional that an adult in an educational setting could ever upload that. Children in primary school are required to write using full stops and capital letters. During winter, they cancelled one day because of snow and in July (on my daughter's last day ever) we were rung and told that she couldn't attend because one of the staff had a sickness bug and there weren't enough people to look after her. Surely they could have been more thoughtful and rung someone else whose child would continue going rather then cancelling my daughter's last day ever? She wanted to say goodbye and had gifts for the teachers, which she never ended up giving. We were also told that the money won't be refunded as the nursery still had to pay the salary to its staff. Is this even legal? Can someone tell me? That day cost us double -we paid for nursery and had to take a day off to look after our daughter."
"Fake smiles from management to parents. Very high expectations for staff but Lack of support from management. Very frustrating atmosphere. The staff generally care for the children unfortunately seems that management only want to make a profit. Very high turnover of staff."
"Lovely nursery. Staff are polite and welcoming and the rooms are spacious and full of exciting things to do. Lots of positive changes have been made recently and this reflects in the nursery, the atmosphere and buzz around nursery is great."
"I can’t recommend this nursery. Whilst the staff were lovely towards our child, there is something seriously wrong with the management as there’s a constant turnover of staff. Not one of the assistants were the same when we left as when we first went. They only deal in cash and don’t do email communication. The final straw was when we had to take a day off work as the nursery had staff shortages. We were paying the full price for the place and they were reluctant not to charge us for the cancelled day. We couldn’t afford to have that uncertainty and so moved nurseries."
"Terrible. Wouldn't allow me to look around the nursery until 2 months before I needed childcare to start, which is ridiculous to leave it so late. Worse still was the attitude of the staff member answering the phone. Emailed the manager and had no response, not even an acknowledgment. Needless to say, I would not recommend this nursery at all."
