"Having recently been in to see the results of the renovation I came away mainly pleased although somewhat disappointed. The new layout is easier to navigate, things are clearly signposted and the food-to-go areas are majorly improved and looking very modern. The relocation of the post office to the back of the store is hugely helpful and allows better movement throughout. The product range remains expansive and with plenty of hard to find items, a good grocery range, along with Budgens’ own provisions. My disappointment lies in the plastic. Prior to the renovations, this store had a very exciting and hugely progressive bid to go plastic free, and was well on its way to doing so. Now however, huge amounts more plastic are in every aisle and multiple product lines where unnecessary. I hope management will seek to make and maintain better environmental commitments going forwards."
"Wow!!! Is this the same store? So much light so much room to walk around. The range of things fresh food , like veg fresh bread fish and the cake counter! They have a good range for alll your taste and diet needs. I love the dry peas and lentils area! You get fresh juice to your choice and it's a lovely brought store it makes you won't to spend!!! Well done !"
"Great renovation. comfortable trolleys, can be operated with one hand, wow. wide aisles. All items are the same as before. juices and ready meals inside. post office in the farthest corner of the store. I came in the evening, but there was a lot of ready-made food in cash. Hurrah."
"EDIT: I understand the store has reopened on Dec 15 (there was a sign with the opening date a few weeks prior) ==== When is the store reopening? No sign on the store, no update on the website and nobody picks up the phone… it would be good to update the website to reflect the store is closed, and put a sign on the store with the targeted reopening date… Prior to closing, great fishmonger in store!"
