"The pharmacist here is my hero. I contracted Lyme disease from a tick bite. It is rare and the doctors obviously didn’t know how to treat it properly. I was given a prescription for the correct antibiotic, but for 1 week instead of 3, and at half the correct dose. The treatment they gave me is very unlikely to have cured me. There is a 2 month long saga with the doctors misdiagnosing/losing records/doing the wrong tests that I won’t bore you with but the pharmacist was amazing! When I told her it was for Lyme disease she immediately said that it was an inadequate treatment and told me to call my GP. She also called the surgery on my behalf and explained the correct treatment to the doctors! I eventually got the right treatment and a formal apology from the doctors. If Lyme disease isn’t treated promptly it can be very nasty but thank to the pharmacist I made a full recovery. I can’t thank her enough."
