Reviews of South Staffordshire College
"What's so cool about this college is you get to make some new friends with people"
"I work at south staffs college it is a good place it's had a bad name because if the principal we had all he was interested in how much money he coukd make for himself but we have a new principal who is interested in the college and she is doing all she can to get the college back to how it was we are moving to new premises in the town"
"Great location, not too far from train station and bus stops. Has great facilities, the choices of costa, cafe or own restaurant. The rest pends on which course you take!"
"Brilliant place to go good street parking and customer parking available. Not far from leicester.. Plenty of opportunities and guidance amazing professional staff"
"While the lecturers of the engineering department are fantastic and really get you learning, the overall management of this college is an absolute joke. The IT equipment never works because it's not set up properly, such as a lack of printers being set up on them or a severe lack of software, including computers that don't even have Windows activated which prevents certain settings from being changed. We bring this up to staff and even during course rep meetings, to find that we are completely ignored on the matter. How I'm able to finish my engineering project without CAD software on the computers is beyond me, I am paying for my course so a severe lack of effort in the IT department ruins it. Then there's also the lack of hours in the course. We get 12 and a half hours contact time per week, which is not the 16 hours required for a full time course. Again, I'm paying for a full time course and when we complained about the lack of hours, we got shrugged off and ignored. We now have to do one or two units entirely at home because of the lack of hours when they are supposed to be done during contact time at college. It's been extremely stressful juggling time around to get on with the work and trying to learn so we can complete our assignments. The overall college is terrible and it's management that makes the place a joke. The lecturers I have and who I have got to know are amazing, I cannot fault them at all. I feel sorry for them that they have to deal with such a horrible place to work at."
