Reviews of Light Hall School
"If I could give it no stars or less, I would. Dad sent me here thinking it was a good school. Let me tell you, it was the worst years of my life. I left nearly 7 years ago, and have never and will never look back. It is terrible for bullying. I was bullied on a daily basis by students and teachers. Because I was quiet and wouldn't stand up for myself. It's disgusting, honestly. I didn't want to be there, I'd do anything to get out of classes. There were 2 teachers there I felt comfortable with, my business teacher Mr Lowe, one of the rare ones that were nice to me and made me feel comfortable. And Mr O'Grady in PSC, them, I really liked. There are a few other teachers that were ok and pleasant to me. But most of them I hated. And I'm not a hateful person. I was publicly humiliated by them. I was ignored by them..one time I sat in a maths lesson crying with the entire room openly talking about me, calling me names, taking the mick. Barring 3 ppl maybe. Did the teacher step in? No. And btw these weren't whispers, they were talking louder than average. The whole room. Baring in mind, I had no friends in this lesson so the fact I was so singled out, was awful for me and it's affected my life so much. Maths was the worst for me, it affected my education so I'm terrible at maths now (which in yr7 was my favourite lesson) I suffer from social anxiety/phobia because of what the people did to me there, I couldn't go to college because of it. I can't work. I have no friends because I struggle with people, school has honestly destroyed me. I would not recommend it to anyone. The list goes on about the nasty things that went on in that school and it still upsets and bothers me, now at age 22. If anyone's to ask me about this hell hole, I'll tell you not to go there, not to send your children there. I mean, hopefully it's changed now.. but I spent the worst years of my life there so I'll always have a negative review about it. I didn't write a review to be spiteful, but I wanted to be honest. Like I say, hopefully it's changed now, there's probably new teachers, maybe kids aren't so mean now.."
"Terrible school..had the worse time there. Started off ok ...but ever since the new headteacher Mrs Kimblin came its gone down hill. Children are vile there horrid you dont even have to do anything. Just walk somewhere and someone will push you or pour something on you for no reason just for fun... Pastoral care is rubbish someone could punch you in the face and they would just get a warning no punishment. If your sending your child here be prepared for your child to get hit insulted, assulted and spat on at least once a week. I wouldn't want any other child to go through the pain what I went through with this school and have your personality literally tared apart and not even wanting to get up in the morning because your so scared that something will happen to you there."
"Both my kids at this school. Lighthall made them feel welcome and pastoral managers are very helpful especially miss White. Kids are happy and learning ."
