Reviews of Marple Aqueduct
"The highest canal aqueduct in England. This incredible triple arched structure carries the Peak Forest Canal 90-feet above the River Goyt near Marple."
"The whole area is gorgeous with many trails and hikes. Great if you like the hills as well, as you can simply just deviate off the side paths and get stunning views all round."
"If you park at marple library an do the short walk to the canal, turn left, follow the 13 or so locks down you soon come to tha aqueduct. It's brilliant views on top and from the bottom looking up."
"A very nice place to be and spend some time with nature. A very nice bike ride also if you're a rider or you can just walk the path from Marple memorial park and the locks. A magnificent structure that is highly recommended to visit. You can also see the train tracks behind it. You can take the stairs down and see the enormous build that is a very awesome sight to see."
"A winter wonderland when we were there as it was snowing. The whole place was so nice. We walked down beside the canal from Marple turning around at the viaduct, 200ft up, which is worth seeing from below, access via steps. A very easy leisurely walk, taking 15 to 20 mins one way. There was a few people but not to many. Recommended to go."
